The track is basically an 80s track on steroids, truly a gem that would have been able to slay every single dancefloor in 1986. The 80s trend that Carly started with This Kiss finds its epitome with First Time, which truly consacrates Carly Rae as the Pop Queen of our generation.

BACKGROUND:

Call Me Maybe is track #3 on Carly's second album Kiss and #1 on the Curiosity EP. The track represents the highest selling single in history and was also the #1 song of 2012 worldwide. With its innocent style Call Me Maybe talks about that sweet feeling a person experiences once he/she meets someone new he/she likes. Truly the best stalker-ish anthem of all time.

This one was probably my biggest disappointment while counting the scores. It's a beautiful song and it made me realize that a lot of you guys seriously don't get the fact the fact that without it we wouldn't be here doing this, cause we probably would have never had both Kiss and E•MO•TION. Call Me Maybe isn't just a wonderful track, it's the song that allowed Carly to continue her dream, it should have been Top 3.

It DESTROYS entire discographies, it's also everything a certain album that was released last year should have been.
I hope with all my heart it will get a music video and japanese promo, it deserves to smash cause it's one of the best tracks ever made.

Call Me Maybe deserved Top 10, happy it didn't win, though.

1. Run Away With Me - One of the songs which is completely overrated in the larger picture, and yet I don't mind because it's actually flawless. A worthy winner.
2. Turn Me Up - Pretty undeniably the highlight of Kiss, the 'turn me up, turn me on' bit is kinda lazy, but the verses/chorus is brilliant, I don't get how no one did this before.
3. Your Type - The final chorus is magical, it really hits me. At first it was my least favourite on the album, but now it's my second or third favourite, I think.
4. E•MO•TION - A great song, would've been a great single. I played it once to my friend a few hours before the album came out and he hated it, but now he likes it. The power!
5. Drive - Recently, this has begun to rival WFSR as my second favourite bonus track (after Black Heart, of course). That chorus!
6. I Didn’t Just Come Here To Dance - This got old, but it's still a bop.
7. Tonight I’m Getting Over You - I sabotaged it because it winning would've been a catastrophe, but it's actually not that bad in the grand scheme of things
8. Sweetie - It's nice, but what a random Top 10, this should've died in the 30s as best.
9. Gimmie Love - It's kinda nice but complete filler. Top 30 material.
10. Curiosity (EP Ver.) - Did y'all get them mixed up? This is literally not even, like, good. I should have given this a 1, if I didn't already.

What a ****** Top 10, I only would've chosen my Top 4/5 to be in it. 4 of those songs are just not ever very good

8. Drive (It's actually a fun summery-bop to lose yourself to but not top 10 worthy)
