Chart Notes: I took a bit of a break between updates, it's been busy times lately, but I should be back in the groove of things as of this one, especially since Best Of is now officially over. It was pretty great times in all honesty and I am very happy people actually checked it out. I had fun commenting and seeing what everyone has been listening to throughout the year (and I even finished mine! Just in time!)
During the next couple weeks, I'm going to try catching up on my to listen to list and stuff I bookmarked from a bunch of people's best ofs, that I am hoping to check out.
Anyway, there are understandably a ton of debuts this week. As this is more or less the first major update of the year. 1 month in and this year is already stacked with great releases. Thanks to Rider, Anderson .Paaks great
Malibu debuts (fun fact: one of my best friends's parents have a place in Malibu, when he comes back to Southern California, I stay over sometimes. Malibu is one of my favorite places in the world), as does Rihanna's Anti (which is finally here!) She raked in massive debut numbers this past week, numbers not really achieved since Drake's If You're Reading This It's Too Late dropped last year.
The album is great, it's been one year since FourFiveSeconds, so it's also about time. I have decided to avoid charting the non-singles from Anti for now, as this chart would be 80% Anti if I decided not to. Speaking of this chart, I decided to average the plays from the past couple weeks. As such, excellent new singles from Dierks Bently (one of my two country faves) and Brandy debut as the top songs here. Rihanna and Drake aren't too far behind either with Work.
Coldplay and Beyoncé's super single Hymn For The Weekend also is doing quite well. Unfortunately for them, most of the song's plays were from CD, which is untrackable, and I have no way of knowing how many times I played the song (a lot) or the album. In the past couple weeks, A Head Full of Dreams has been just about the only album I've listened to in my car, since I had a minor issue with my auxiliary cable attachment for my ipod and I do a lot of driving, so it's likely that they raked in more plays than ANti, but I have no way of knowing how many. Poor them.
Anyway, it's good to be back for certain. Thanks for commenting!
