I'm hopeful; Speak Now actually seems to be the second-most talked about album after 21!
It's just that Taylor has so many pros and cons that it's really up-in-the-air.
Pros
-improvement lyrically and musically over her last album
-more mature than her last album
-high critical response (77 on metacritic)
-first week sales in excess of 1,000,000 (without a controversial sale)
-blend between critical and commercial success
-Entertainer of the Year + Artist of the Year wins
-#1 single on country radio, others all to top 5
-wrote every song completely by herself, coproduced every song
-charted every song in the Hot 100
-she's on an independent record label
Cons
-not as commercially successful as previous album in terms of crossover and airplay
-has already won AOTY, extremely uncommon for back-to-back releases to both recieve AOTY
-tough competition from Jason Aldean, and Lady Antebellum may siphon votes away from both
-album was released over a year ago, so it's not "fresh" in people's minds
-Grammys will likely prefer to acknowledge somebody for the first time rather than re-award a previous winner
She has more pros than cons, but the cons are big enough to outweigh the pros (especially since she already won with her previous album)... I think she'll get the nom, but not the win; which is fine with me.
