Meryl should have about two extra Oscars on her mantle. It seems she's the "Susan Lucci" of the Oscars in a sense (I'm aware she had two previous Oscars). I just think they felt the need to give her the award this year. I'm not sure how many more she will win. They love her, but they don't LOVE her.

That "be grateful" mess is what I can't stand. We shouldn't have to settle for one person winning SUPPORTING Actress when they clearly both should have won. Meryl (the actress) won, not her performance, because if she did they wouldn't have had to throw her nomination total around all night to justify the upset that was coming. Most of the people in here rooting for Meryl have never even seen The Iron Lady.

I don't disagree, but what can you do? I still think Viola will be back in the race in the future. She is becoming more and more popular in Hollywood, and that says a lot because there aren't that many black females getting that kind of love.
