Jessie J , Ariana Grande , and Nicki Minaj - Bang Bang
I was excited when i hear about this collaboration, mainly about Ariana and Nicki.
But after a few listen, i kinda dissapointed with the song.
I know i can predict how Jessie J would sound, but i hope more with Ariana's part.
Nicki's rap is a great one actually.
Well, i hope Ariana's and Nicki's team won't milk it so much and move to the next single for their album cause i really can't handle this song after like 5 listen.

Hillary Duff - Chasing The Sun
This is like a real comeback.
I mean 7 years is a major gap career and that's not even the gap to her peak, meaning that 7 years ago, Hil probably didn't have many fans like she had during Lizzie McGuire and So Yesterday era.
And the fact that she can reach top 20 iTunes right now amazes me.
Me however have a love-hate relationship with her music.
I love some her singles, but in her entire album, there's always some songs that got me to the WTH moment.
I mean, i dislike it to some extent. And not to mention her single with Haylie ( )
So Yesterday, Come Clean, and Fly are def my favourites from her, and when she changed her musical route to a dancey music, surprisingly i like it.
Not that i dislike dance music, but i never thought that she could pull it off.
Play with Fire is okay, but what get me hooked are With Love and Stranger.
So when i hear that her first single is not Dignity-ish, i still have faith in her, coz i love her from the start with her laid back pop music.
Buuuuuuut, after i hear it, (my first time hearing it was on her music video) i was hugely dissapointed.
The song is too repetitive and there's nothing memorable about the song, the production is so simple, which is definitely suit the style of the writer Colbie Caillat (but i'm sure if she keeps it, she'll add something to the song, and not making it bland)
The video is cute tho, she's so freakin pretty and gosh, i don;t think she aged.
So the conclusion :
This is not what i have in mind about a 7 year comeback single artist.
Let's hope her 2nd single will be amazing.

Hilary Duff - Chasing the Sun
4.5/10
When I knew Hilary was leading to her comeback I was excited. She may not have the best voice but we were used to be served flawless pop tunes from her. Everything began to tremble in my mind when she revealed the song was called like this. The foreseeing of what would've happened was heavy but I still had hope. "How can a title make a song predictable?", I repeated to myself. Well, I was wrong! I can't believe that for her long-awaited and hyped comeback someone told her it was the right move to put out a Colbie Caillat reject. It's just an inoffensive, breezy summer single that doesn't offer anything interesting. It would've been a good 3rd or 4th single for someone in his debut or for the very own songwriter but again not for a popstar coming back after 5 years. Little can do the cute video applied to something so insipid. I know you can do better, Hillary. We all know it!

Hilary Duff
I have never listened to a single Hilary Duff song (or know that I did) and I didn't know she was so huge in ATRL. Everyone knows Hilary, everyone knows Lizzie McGuire, but her music career? I don't know, or maybe it's just me. But from what I've heard, she seems more Hannah Montana than Ashlee Simpson. Or maybe it's just me again.
So after 7 years of no music, people were expecting tons. Literally tons. I don't know, has her music been that great that she leaves people with such insane expectations? Thankfully, I had none, so I think I had quite an objective perspective on this. Seeing how people were so hyped about this, when it came out, I actually rushed to listen to it, even though I was about to go to bed at 10:45pm (yes, I sleep really early). The song itself didn't blow me away. It was a really really simple song, with simple instrumentation and simple lyrics. There really isn't a high point on the song that gets people really excited or fills us with emotions. The track just coasts along.
But even so, the track still works. Even though it's simple, I love it's simplicity. It gives such a calm and summery feel. The song feels like a breeze of cool air as you chill by the beach. For being able to cook up a mood in me, the song is already effective. Even though it's short, it's sweet.
The song is a cute offering, even though it is a bit too simple for some of y'all in ATRL. If you could throw away all your preconceptions and expectations, the song is actually good. Or maybe it's just me.

I agree with you, holyground. I admit my score is more based on my expectations and on my knowledge of her previous work. I'm just disappointed this comes from he. If it was a nobody putting this out maybe I would've upgraded the score to a 6.

Good for you. I don't totally dislike this song but it's just there. I used to love Hilary back then cause she had cool songs, it wouldn't have been the case if she was releasing material like this. She has always evolved with each era, why going back to the beginning now?

Jessie J, Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj - "Bang Bang"
For the past three days I've had this on repeat nonstop. When you have three very talented artists collaborate on one track, of course the chances of it being great are high... but this is just fantastic. I did NOT expect that chorus - which is probably my favorite part of the song. I thought Jessie J delivered with her vocals immensely. Ariana's portion was very Ariana, in a great way. And Nicki... God she brought this track to an entire new level. Her verse was just too good - I mean referencing the Little Engine That Could - I would have NEVER thought she would. With Jessie's vocals, Ariana's charm and Nicki's creativity - this is probably going to be one of my favorite tracks of the year. The only thing I will say though is that if that instrumental introduction did exist, that would've been a better way to start the song off than Jessie immediately singing. And also the ending is cut too soon, they should've let the reverb of the guitars / drums last a little longer. But overall I love it

I really enjoy Bang Bang. Jessie's and Ariana's vocals are amazing and at first I thought it could've done without Nicki's rap verse, but I like how it changes the pace of the song. Though the song, in my opinion, already sounds dated, it does remind of a time when pop music was really good. I've been playing this regularly and won't stop using for a while. I'll give this song an 8 out of 10, mainly for the vocals and the replay value, it sounds like they are having a lot of fun

Anything Goes
I've loved Lady Gaga and her music since 2008 and loved Jazz even longer, so when she released a Holiday EP with some Jazz vibes a couple of years ago I loved it. She didn't deliver my favourite rendition of The Lady Is A Tramp, but it was good enough for me to really look forward to Cheek To Cheek. When Anything Goes dropped, I was pleasantly surprised with how they divided the lyrics and even more so with both Tony's and Gaga's vocals. I hate that they cut the song short, but analysing the lyrics I do get why they did, so I won't take off too many points for that. All in all this has gotten me hyped for Cheek To Cheek, since it's a different side to a, usually, very extravagant pop star, who is now giving herself the opportunity to really show off her vocals.

Anything Goes
So the lead single of the hyped(?) Tony Bennett/Lady Gaga collaboration album is here. While Gaga has successfully used Jazz covers of her songs live, creating new music with a Jazz legend (????). This is a good way to get many suckers to respect her, but at the end of the day all she did was create a Vanilla Jazz song. No, it's not as offensive as Kenny G, but it's not great. Lady Gaga has always pushed herself to be on the cutting edge of Pop music, even if it wasn't always successful, but Anything Goes finds Lady Gaga making the old, boring, music of the past without a hint of irony, innovation, or tact.
