ALBUM REVIEW:
One of the unexpected records of the year takes the runner-up spot in my list. This time, P!nk makes a comeback with this record filled with so much pop gems that really impressed me from start till the end. The Truth About Love is definitely an enjoyable album which definitely deserve to earn a nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album in the Grammys. The fun starts with Are We All We Are, a self empowerment anthem where it picks up on where Raise Your Glass left. Lead single Blow Me (One Last Kiss) narrates the end of P!nk's 10-year relationship with Carey Hart while Try is an ode in taking risk when it comes to love no matter what the consequences are. Fun.'s lead vocalist Nate Ruess lends his time to team up for the piano assisted Just Give Me A Reason. The next track focuses on the love-hate relationship for True Love then P!nk shows her anger on a lover that is hiding from her on How Come You're Not Here. The attitude song S.lut Like You showcases some screams and woohoo's which makes this an album standout. The title track follows next as P!nk reveals that the true love is just a lie. The mood of the record shifts to the heartfelt acoustic ballad where P!nk sings about taking a break from reality for Beam Me Up. Walk Of Shame is a fun track which has similarity to her upbeat tracks on her previous records then Eminem joins the fun with Here Comes The Weekend, where the main focus is the anticipation to the weekend. The mid-tempo track Where Did The Beat Go is the eleventh track while The Truth About Love ends on a somber but hopeful note with The Great Escape. This one is a personal song which is dedicated to one of P!nk's friend and to everyone who is experiencing a rough time. There hasn't been a solid pop record for 2012 to be honest until this record just came along. P!nk truly saved the pop music this year and I can't wait to see the succeeding singles to smash in the charts.
