A damn shame and VERY disrespectful of them if they choose someone whose barely been on this forum or knows anything about it or the dynamics of it over someone who has been here as long as you have. Politics never fail to work their way into situations like this one, don't worry about it though, everything happens for a reason. Of course this is all only true if you didn't get chosen, have faith and may teh blessings of Beyonces good spirit carry you through the promise land.

Expect an announcement if not tonight then sometime tomorrow possibly. For those of you who didn't make it, don't be discouraged. We received probably anywhere from 150 applications that Athens and Johnald had to screen before discussion were made. Our Admins read them all, researched people's posting history, warning history, the skills they listed that would better assist the squad, and etc. in order to see if things matched up.
From all those applications submitted, only twenty of them made it through the screening process. Our Administrators put some hours into this whole thing. After that, discussions among the mods began and we were able to see the applications of the twenty people making it through. Long discussions were had on each one, comparing the pros and cons of each candidate. The next step was where we narrowed the list down to eight candidates for another round of interviews. This round was extra hard because everyone brought some good responses, but only four will make it.
Who are those four members? Stay tuned for an announcement by Athens.

I'm not really into the sonority thing. Whoever has the best application and qualifications should be the new mod - does not matter how long they've been on the site or how long they've known everyone for.

No prob Bea! Even the mods won't know the final four until the announcement. All we could do is provide feedback and discussions in a roundtable style for each candidate. It wasn't easy and I'm sure we'll be met with some disappointments because it's only natural, but the four selected will get the job done and work cohesively with the staff.
