Look @ RTB and basicly all of BEP singles, they did amazing on iTunes and the album is way pass 2m.

The point isn't that Alejandro has an excuse to be doing poorly because of the album sales. I don't think anyone was trying to argue that.

It's only about YLIMD vs Alejandro. What do BEPs have to do with that?

Lady Gaga had it with Poker Face and Just Dance because Just-Dance was a late-hit. So both of them performed as the "lead"-single.

(Poker Face was blocked by Boom Boom Pow for 12 weeks. That means it could have spent 13 weeks at #1 if BBP wasn't released (Poker Face was #2 for 12 weeks)

But that doesn't stop a single from going #1 on iTunes. It might end up having no longetivity, but it can still sell a respectful amount of copies, regardless the album sales.

YLIMD and Alejandro should end up selling the same amount.
