It really doesn't though, it's the same notes on repeat and I remember the beat being stolen from someone else. At least with Gaga, no matter who she works with, you know you're going to get something different.

She should have gotten on top of this retro/disco rhythmic-leaning sound that's the in-thing right now. She could've slayed it so hard. All her talk about futuristic music, yet most of ARTPOP sounds more dated than The Fame

The only two songs on the album close to it are DWUW and Fashion!, which are easily two of the standout productions.

That's where Fashion! came in! Troy Carter knew what was up when he orchestrated that!

Fashion! would have really made a good summer single. Honestly, if handled correctly, over half the album could have and should have been singles. ARTPOP is a very single heavy album at heart. Almost every song screams hit to me, which I've never really felt for any other album other than The Fame Monster. There's just so many good choices. I remember even Interscope was supposedly having trouble choosing the third single.

I feel like she put C2C as a side-era for a reason. She's a Dance musician and that's the type of music she wants to put out. I think a full AC album would be a little too safe for her standards.

Seriously though, I could honestly see all 15 tracks off of ARTPOP being singles (or, in the case of Jewels n Drugs, and urban only single). They could have at least squeezed 6 or 7 singles off of it. It's terribly sad it only got 3.

DJWS can be good if they stray away from the commercial. Artpop, Government Hooker, Electric Chapel are all excellent songs and different from the norm. I'm just not sure if he really has an ear for hits, which Gaga still needs every now and then in her career. Unless she becomes a huge album seller again.

Can someone tell me what good album sales are this age? Because even KP isn't doing too hot there and it has me all kinds of confused as to what is currently successful.

I'm fine with it too. Especially if she does it right and not keeping it just electro pop. Like go ahead and do the ****ing thing. Trying different styles of EDM. Preferably the more quieter approaches.

I don't even care I listen to whatever, so whatever she brings I'm fine. As long as I like it, that's all that matters. It would be nice though for her to move away from it for a bit. She shouldn't go Adult contemporary, or country. But a simple alternative pop record with well written songs, a cohesive image, and some amazing production wouldn't hurt a bit

I just want her to do something current sounding, so preferably not EDM. If she wants to have a sustained career, she needs to evolve her sound and keep up with the times, and that means moving away from EDM.

I think it was Jimmy Iovine who made Gaga work with will.i.am and David Guetta for a track, but yeah, you're absolutely right. They knew what was up.

I wish Gaga would take more input from her label.

And I wish she hadn't fired Troy tbh. Her ego was at an all-time high this era. Just hope she's gotten it out of her system. She has to realize she can't do everything the way she wants it. What made her previous eras (especially TF+TFM) so good was that she was part of a creative team.
