I can barely get through a typical pop video anymore, I just don't give a crap about that stuff. I must be getting old lol, but at 26, i'm really done with the mariah carey type beauty videos and all that cliché ********. I really only stan for Beyoncé now because she is making movies and her music keep evolving, so it's exciting. But her visuals are getting better and taking on more complex subjects and it's a fun ride to be on with her.

I watched Nocturnal Animals (amazing film, second best i've seen all year, go watch it) and it's directed by Tom Ford and I would love if she worked with him on something. The man is a genius.

Pharrell winning UC was indeed a shock....but then looking more into it...it really wasnt. the fact that he was also nominated for AOTY & "Happy" was a huge monster of a song played into it. but then you have to factor in that Pharrell has been in the game for a long time too. there may be a portion of people that came to know about him & his music with "Happy" but for a lot of ppl...especially urban listeners....Pharrell had been an A-list producer for like 15 years before "Happy" was put out. he was already well known going back to the Neptunes...he has produced a lot of hit songs & great music for other artists...including Bey herself.


having said all of that... you have to consider all the relationships & alliances he has within the urban block too & he may have gotten some crossover pop voters b/c you can vote in different categories. he's worked with people across the board. all the fellow artists, producers, writers, engineers, execs that he may have worked with over the years and/or known. while they may love & respect Beyonce and any other time...would've voted for her. some of them have probably worked with Pharrell on their albums so its a different dynamic personally. if Bey herself wasnt in that category...she & Jay probably would've cast their vote for Pharrell too. so in hindsight...it makes sense to me how competitive it was & why he would win.

definitely not the same situation with Rihanna...for many of the reasons said....but we wont really know until 2/12.

It may sound like a stretch but I lowkey think that they didn't nominate her in the rnb categories so that she doesn't win "too many" awards, not because the rnb voters no longer support her or whatever. If that snub means that Solange can win then it's fine anyway

THIS. It's crazy how much Bey has outgrown and flat out outclassed the rest of the pop world with her concepts and visuals. It's hard for me to adjust back down after becoming used to what she's bringing to the table.

That's exactly it. If she went back to making videos like B'Day and 4 she would be regressing and I can't go back to that after becoming accustomed to what she's been serving these last two eras.

Someone mentioned the OTR visuals being better than Lemonade and... that's just a big no for me. It's amazingly shot and the bride scenes were gorgeous, but all they are is aesthetically pleasing. Great great Tour visuals though.

The only criticism I have this era is the tour. 1)The interludes and backdrops were lazy, especially compared to her previous 2 tours. 2)The setlist was not the T for me. 3)It should have been longer.
