From what I've seen it's "unisex".
The PUMA site separates them into a Men's and Women's webpages, but the only difference seems to be the male size range vs. the female size range.
The design is identical.
I think PUMA manufactured these in a limited quantity, especially the men's sizes. For two reasons.
One, to create a frenzy and the appeal for it to sell out quickly which heightens demand for the reissue.
Two, to make sure there weren't too many eggs in one basket and the investment in creating a shoe that could have flopped wasn't too embarrassing.
Clearly, it's all been a rousing success and Rih has done wonders for the re-enlivening of the brand.
