need more performances like this (minus Venus). She looks iconic.
I loved both of these performances so much. She looks amazing in both, imo.
And to answer your question earlier: GUY the release wasn't "for the fans" but the video with three different ARTPOP songs was. No way would a label ever spend money putting out a single just "for the fans".

Well, there are a couple of possible motivations. The first is that they truly intended for it to be her biggest hit since Bad Romance (Spring Awakening, and all), but as soon as they saw that the single wasn't even breaking the top 100 on iTunes, they just sorta gave up after that.
The only other alternative is that she and her team just wanted her fans to stop complaining and having meltdowns all over LM.com.
I'm sure they expected it to do more than it did, but expecting it to be a hit like Bad Romance...

Well, I put it in quotes for a reason because I couldn't believe it but if it was mostly funded by Gaga and stopped a week after it was released due to no payola..
Anyways, rocket number nine take off to the planet. To the planet. V
I think G.U.Y. flopping the way it did must have finally hit Gaga at least a bit. Before that she was blaming everybody but herself, with G.U.Y. she did exactly what she wanted and what she expected to be a hit and it kinda backfired really bad.
And don't come with the "she doesn't care about the charts" cause she was obviously trying to make an impact on the charts with G.U.Y.

I just don't see it this way, tbh. It always came off as a "last hurrah" to me with the way she handled it. I honestly feel like she was happy simply because she finally got to sit down and plan and execute something the way she wanted to do it (though I'm sure she would've liked for it to succeed).

Even though the song flopped, the way they handled it gave me hope for the future. It was the first time since the firing of Troy that her team got to do something on their own, and they were actually professional about it, especially with pulling it after radios weren't playing it as opposed to trying to push it.

I would agree with you but all those "Watch GUY on Youtube multiple times" & "Lets break the VEVO record" and stuff say otherwise. She wanted G.U.Y. to be successful so bad. Nothing wrong with that.
Lets just hope that if she wants to keep being a top tier popstar (charting, single sales, album sales, streaming and all) she needs to do some changes to both her image & music. If she really doesn't wants to keep being a top tier popstar then I'm ok with it. But I truly believe that's not the case cause she seems so bothered about her flopping and people calling her a flop.

I think she wants to be top tier but she also wants to do what she wants to do. Like, she wants the public to "get it" and "get her" even when her vision is so ****ing convoluted that not even her fans "get it" or "get her". The annoying thing is that she can do both IF she compromised and worked with someone who could take her overblown concepts and work them into something that was easier to understand. I guess the next pop era will make it clear what she wants to do and what direction she's going in: Madonna, Kate Bush, or Prince (combination of commercial without sacrificing).

THIS is what her "old" team understood and was able to translate.
It had two tv performances, the music video debuted on national television, and she spent, like, two weeks headlining different radio stations. Plus the Spring Awakening photoshoot, SXSW.
And then it came to a screeching halt. Anyways, I don't really care either way because I got a pretty good music video out of it, I'm just puzzled by her team (or her?) actions. She's happy anyways so.

No shade to you, but you guys gotta get over this "old team" stuff. Her creative team (the team that helps her with video concepts, etc.) is the same it has always been sans one person. It's Gaga who has changed, Gaga is the one who has decided to stop compromising, not her team. Her team is still capable of doing what they used to do, but it's Gaga who calls the shots at the end of the day. TBH, odds are it was her team that persuaded her into making the GUY video into something that made a bit of sense.
It all falls onto Gaga at this point. Of course whatever she chooses to do her team will support because that's what they're paid to do.

Looking at Katy, Rihanna, and even Beyonce at times, it is crazy how much creative control Gaga has. I'm assuming this started with Born This Way, her second album? It would tie in to Lana's Ultraviolence also taking huge creative quality control. Interscope is kinda cool for that but they can just be soooo messy.
