Machine Gun Love is terrible and has no real melody.
I mean, could you ever imagine people humming that while driving down the road? Yeah, that's exactly why it was scrapped.
Wherever You Are is equally as bad.
I'm sure there are some good melodies here and there, the point is Kesha couldn't construct strong enough melodies for the radio on her own, which is exactly why none of her singles were composed/written by herself.

Is there any pop girl album worse than One of the Boys?

My god, Katy Perry's personality that she puts on during the length of that album is hard to endure. She goes from shaming her feminine ex-boyfriend to using homosexuality to get a hit song (which was only successful in one of two attempts) to being the hardest girlfriend to ever please on songs like Mannequin, Hot N Cold, and If You Can Afford Me, while simultaneously playing the victim on songs like Lost and Self Inflicted. Then she has the nerve to finish the album by saying "I wanna break the mold, I wanna break the stereotype," when she spent the past 40-or-so minutes fitting into a stereotype to appeal to the public.

The composition of the songs isn't really the issue here, although they are mediocre for the most part. The issue is Katy's terrible lyrics and how she presents herself. Bleh.

Thinking of You was solely written and composed by Katy, Waking Up in Vegas was also 90% solely Katy's work including the production.
One of the Boys, Mannequin, and Ur So Gay were all written and composed by Katy as well.

Where do you get 90% from? Let's not.

There is a definite possibility that Kesha could write her own song and have it become a hit but we will likely never know whether or not that's possible now. Animal" and "The Harold Song" were, again, not Luke and are among her best.

So? You asked for singles, you got them. Besides, ToY was huge in Brazil and quite successful in Germany/France.
