Well she had a fair bit of backlash from things like the Alejandro video, Yankees game incident & the outfit worn to her sisters graduation and there just seemed to be a lot of negativity surrounding her for a short time. If she had have released a fourth single then it may well have all escalated, but instead the label knew when to stop.
You think her label planned to release a 4th single, but stopped due to negative press?
I doubt that.
Next time if her label tries to do preemptive damage control, I hope it's by not allowing a music video in which the first 1/3 consists of her putting on and removing goggles, and the last third is her singing "Alejandro, Alejandro" on loop for 3 minutes.
