My point is is that it was a difficult era filled with a lot of negativity, and I would like it if the Base now was used to discuss her upcoming music with a positive and excited attitude.
Feel free to read back through the past week in the thread, since I started posting. I post a lot about how well Cheek to Cheek will make people see her for her talent. I actually stood up for Cheek to Cheek when people were suggesting it may not even garner a Grammy nom.

We all deserve a negative opinion sometimes.
Right now =/= The past week. And it's not just you.
None of this makes sense. Someone mentioned Gaga's demos being better, to which I agreed, and you confirmed that Gaga made demos. Had you said you disagreed, I probably would have said to each his own, but that you did not.
And who is making assumptions? ARTPOP title was revealed like what, August 2012? And the album came out November 2013, which only backs up what I said about wanting Gaga to work on a new album in two weeks.
The way you were talking, the demos were "good enough" and shouldn't have been changed, but they were demos and were going to be changed either way? They weren't finished songs that she went into the studio and tinkered with, they were unfinished and needed to be finished?
That's the thing! ARTPOP was going to be released in 2012. It was done, it was ready to go, but it suffered the same fate as BTW and was pushed back by the label. After that, Gaga went back into the studio and worked on the album some more. She was done and ready to go, but obviously since she was given more time she went back into the studio to work on it. That's more of the label's fault in my opinion.
Sidenote: Why do people hate paragraphs? Just ignore 'em or take five seconds to read them. Lord.

No.
She told us the label loved it when she played it to them. She was either lying and they hated it and pushed it back, or, as we are suggesting, she worried to much and over produced it.

None of that changes the fact that I said it would be interesting if Gaga recorded an album over a short period time and released it. She still had a long time to think about ARTPOP, and made changes to it up until the last month of release. I don't think it is really all the label's fault considering the material was more or less the same, with last minute adjustments Had she completely revamped ARTPOP at the last minute and decided to release it, then that would have been another story

No.
The label loved what she presented them, but their strategy was to give Gaga more time to simmer because she was still over-exposed at that point in time. The whole reason she showed us the album title in 2012 was because the plan was to have it released then. The same thing happened when she sang BTW at the 2010 VMAs. The plan was to release BTW in 2010 but her and the label decided to wait for the tour to end.
If Gaga over-produced the album, it wasn't because she wanted to go back into the studio and change things, it was because the album got pushed back and she, well, had nothing else to do.

I wasn't really coming at you about you wanting her to record an album in a short amount of time, just the assumption that she over-produced the album because she wanted to, if that makes sense. Like I said in my other reply, she had the album done a year in advanced, but ended up changing a bunch of things simply because she had the time to. That is the label's fault because they were the ones saying "no, we're not releasing it yet" and Gaga was like, "welp, I'll go back into the studio".

I see what you're saying. I would just like to see what Gaga is capable of in a shorter amount of time, given that her ideas (as seen in some of her demos) are usually just right at first (Sexxx Dreams bridge, Aura/MANiCURE vocals, Swine intro). ARTPOP not coming out in 2012 really did throw everything off, I agree, and no matter whose fault that was, I believe it would have been best for Gaga to have started anew beginning in 2013 with less time tot think about it. By the end of the day, ARTPOP was an original 2012 piece that began work in 2011, and was released in 2013. Too much time on one album. She's great when she's raw.

Pretty much what Meowster said. She may have had a tour, but she should have released ARTPOP in early 2013 with a single in late 2012 and we wouldn't be having this discussion, and it would've done amazingly.
You say she had nothing else to do when they decided to push it back, well there's an app that barely has any features, and she was supposedly meant to do videos for every song so she had a lot of filming that could have been done. We only have 2 (or 3 if you count unreleased) videos.

It all falls back on the label. It doesn't matter what Gaga wants to do, if the label says it's not a good idea or doesn't support it, it won't happen. Gaga has control over the creative aspect of her career, not the business aspect. She wanted to film videos for every song but maybe the label said no? That happens a lot. She has so many things she wants to do but she doesn't run her ideas by the label before talking about them publicly, so when the label ends up saying no what she wants to do, it seems like she went back on what she said. You have to remember, the label is the entity that provides the connections, time, money, and management, so if they say no then the answer is no. She's lucky they let her do GUY, but that might've been because she and her team did everything as opposed to the label, which only happened because of the ****** job the label did with everything before GUY.

According to an insider (not really an insider, he just runs a fansite and knows stuff that goes on), the reason 'Aura' changed was 'cause Gaga leaked it and Interscope was probably like, "we don't want a leaked track on the album so do it again". So basically she shot herself with that one.

If Gaga/Boris hadn't leaked "Aura" that would've been the version on the album. I'm guessing Interscope didn't want a leaked track on there, so they told her to re-record it if she still wanted it to appear.

I don't know what they were thinking. I suppose at the time it made sense, you know? I think the album would've performed better had it been released then mainly 'cause there was no competition and people were really, really hungry for new music from her.

The problem of it all is that they waited way to long to start her tour. The album was nearly 1 year old and all the singles were released already. I don't think it would've been a good idea either to have released ARTPOP while still touring for BTW because It would've messed up the time span for ARTPOP
Also, Gaga is looking so good lately. Her C2C style is getting better and better !

I can see this being true. Aura ands it epic chorus did not deserve such harsh treatment.
I would love to hear Gaga left to her own devices on something she recorded in like a month. Of course this would be a free mixtape or on the elusive ARTPOP app.
If it is messy then we have more to discussions such as this and if it slays then we'll applaud her
Little Hindsighters, let us not dwell on the past but use our Little Manager skills to anticipate her future.
This is so true. What's done is done people! We can only guess what went on behind the scenes on so many things. What we do now is two smashes, "The Edge of Glory" and "Do What U Want" have elusively slipped by unnoticed and it's a real shame considering they're both creative high points for Gaga. Still - she's really only a new act and has gone through a similar kind of fame cycle as Britney did so far (FAME, not career). MASSIVELY overexposed and then just needs a bit of time to sit back and find her place amongst the cemented artists (which she will be).
