Album Title - Révolution
Release Date - Sept. 4, 2012 (which is a Tuesday coincidentally)
1. Révolution - A female empowerment song about standing strong and being your own woman and not letting anyone control you. Uptempo and aggressive vocals much like RTW. Tribal beats and a prominent bass, horns and electric guitar. Very crazy and off the wall type of song. Musically very different. Lead single for the album.
2. The Music - An uptempo song with a prominent synth and bass about getting lost in the music and just letting all go of your inhibitions. This song would sound like an 80's throwback more in the line of Control, but with stronger vocals. She talks about how she found her life through music, how it made her who she is and what it means to her. This is a long song and has a crazy wierd breakdown at the end and goes through 4 tempo changes; one with it sped up by 10 bpm, then 20 bmp, then slowed down 20 bpm, then sped back up and it fades out like the end of Girls.
3. Let Me Down - A dark and brooding song, first ballad of the album. Soft and stuttering drums, a whirring synth, a piano, some slight guitar riffs. Her voice is really soft and sorrow-filled throughout the song, like the beginning of Resentment. She talks about how she keeps expecting the best of her lover and he always lets her down, how she's looking out of the window expecting to see him with a bouquet of flowers and a smile, but he's let her down. She waits by the phone for him to call, but he's let her down.
4. Blue Lights - A mid-tempo dedicated to BIC, tribal drums, sort of futuristic synths. Talks about her love for her daughter and how she's so important to her and how she has a new-found perspective on life and how love has a different meaning for her and how she wants to cherish the moments she has because of Blue. She has very strong vocals, you can hear how happy she is in the song.
5. Acappella Song #5 - A song where the music is solely Beyoncé's voice. She's mimicking the drums, a piano, a guitar, some horns, and there's beautiful harmonies throughout the song. Very intricate and complex. She's singing about how she's found her soul mate and how she feels so lucky to have him in her life.
6. DanceBlood - A dance pop uptempo song with a heavy urban bass with some live elements to it, horns, more like Sweet Dreams when it's performed live. Her voice is really poppy and light, girly. She's singing about going out to have fun, she's gonna dance for blood, dance for life, dance for happiness, dance for music, dance for my baby, blood on the dance floor.
7. Smile - A mid-tempo, piano driven song about being happy and being thankful for the people in your life and just appreciating the small moments. Her voice is strong and aggressive, but not to the point where it overpowers the music. You can just feel the happiness she felt while she recorded the song. She talks about how people always try to get her down and always try to throw negativity her way, but she smiles instead and all the negativity fades away.
8. Domination - This song is really aggressive and samples Infinity Guitars by Sleigh Bells. Her voice is chopped up and very staccato like Telephone, Run The World. The Ring The Alarm of the album. She talks about how she's been dominating since she stepped on the scene; 3 other girls deep, the basic bitches can't fade her, she's the hottest in the game, just a brag song. She talks about how this is the millionth and 99 hit and she's coming for more.
9. Blast - Another uptempo song with Fela Kuti influence. The End Of Time kind of drums and horns with a crazy and goofy guitar riff. Her voice mimics the guitar riff in the background of the chorus. She sings about her travels and how it inspires her and how she loves the life she lives and she wouldn't change it for anything. She's just having a blast and learning so much about different cultures and different lifestyles.
10. Acapella Song #10 - Another acapella song, but where she was mimicking instruments solely with her voice, this one she's actually blending her voice and the brass instruments and stinged instruments; her voice blended with a synth, a horn melody, a stuttering drum pattern. Very experimental and odd. A continuation of the first acapella song.
11. Honey Luv - Funk influenced, with mainly horns, guitars, and a marching band type percussion drum. Strong vocals, talking about how she wants to make sweet love to her lover but it's not overtly sexual, just slight inuendos and such. This song would be the closest thing to Work It Out with Love On Top type vocals where she goes higher and when you think she can't go anywhere else with her voice she just keeps going during the bridge and the last chorus.
12. Journey - She talks about her journey to where she is now. Her love for her mother, Destiny's Child, her husband, her child, all of her insecurities and fears, her performing on stage and how she feels alive in doing so. This song only has a violin and a piano, so it's a ballad and she's really touched and emotional in recording it, so she has the growls and grit that we all love.
13. LoveWave - A Carribean, raggae type song with elements of Arabic and pop influences. Marimbas, steel drums, sitars, horns, xylophones, hard urban drum pattern, kinda like a marching band type song. She sings about how she found love and she's happy and it's here to last through the test of time. She doesn't want another lover, she's gonna keep him until the end, no one can put it down like him. There's no melodic structure to the song besides the huge chorus, so she's just going OFF and you can feel how deeply in love she is.

Idk...its kinda reminding me of something.....
Oh right, RTW and the 4 era.......not here for that AGAIN.
I want some hip hop oriented or like the queen said she's gonna do, a rock n roll (or was it just rock?) influence......
She never does the same sound twice...or look.
