Wow, I didn't expect ATRL to be praising the song.
I was really excited for it but it kind of disappointed me. It sounds like Uptown Funk but more electronic. I would even say that it has some Daft Punk style.
It may grow on me like it happened with UF tho! Anyway, I'm perched for the album.
Love the Zapp reference. Me and my friends were just talking about the wonders of that era. This somehow captures elements of both electro R&B and break dance music. I'm sure majority of you don't know anything about Zapp or Rob Base/DJ E Z Rock.

Definitely Daft Punk. I was just thinking about that. And I was laughing because the new David Guetta has some Daft Punk influences too, so I was like "why is everyone releasing a Daft Punk song except Daft Punk Starboy is not the tea

That's my favorite musical era/genre ever, which is why I'm sorta of two minds about this single lol.
compared to Solanges experimental RnB, The Weeknds Starboy that also incorporates funk and synth elements, 24k magic just sounds so bland. I'm sorry, I prefer all of his songs compared to this. It feels so reductive.
The musical comparisons to the track is cringeworthy and almost offensive to electro pioneers like Zapp & The Eurythmics. The music palette around here is very limited. They need to teach music history origins somewhere on here.

Exactly. It really sounds like a mediocre 70s/80s songs to be honest.
