The hatred she gets is ridiculous. I still like her a lot, but I don't stan. For her or for anyone. Stanning for anyone is too stressful. And i don't like the use of "jump ship", because I was growing uninterested before ARTPOP even came out.

Her career is OK right now. So was Cyndi's with A Night to Remember, so was Xtina's was Back to Basics.

And if she's irrelevant, then why is she still in the news when she does notable things?

She has only sold more albums because her fanbase is still alive and rabid as usual. When you take a look at her single sales (which more of indicate her song popularity) they are on the same level as Disney girls. 2x platinum lead single, platinum 2nd single, and 3rd single fails to sell more than 100k.

Also Aze-something Banks is talked about quite frequently on this forum and her twitter drama becomes hit threads, I suppose according to your logic she is a global superstar. Slay mama.

"Applause" was a hit. Still bad sales. "Applause", "Do What U Want" and "G.U.Y." are all radio-friendly dance-pop songs that are meant to be hits. Still bad sales.
