Just because his album isn't doing well, doesn't change the fact that the album might be the best ever for Kworb. That's his own opinion. It's not like he said it would be the best selling ever.

And I get that Leona's album may only have "one hit single", why I think is arguable, but how many other UK-based artists rode 1 single to huge debut album success? (i.e. James Blunt, Gnarls Barkley).

Leona will definitely not just have one hit from 'Spirit' that is really unbelievable you can say that, 'Better In Time' already sold 40k in the US this week and it isn't even getting a US release as far as we know!

Seriously all those songs have potential, especially 'Better In Time' which isn't even the best song on the album. Look she has even sold better than Britney, Lil Mama and Fergie this week with a song that isn't even been released. So that is why it baffles me when people say 'BL' is her only 'Spirit' hit.

^ It seems you have no idea on how iTunes work. Every major album that hits the iTunes store gets its tracks randomly charting for a while. It doesn't mean anything at all. Mariah's album tracks will be all over the Top 100 this week, too.

Mariah Carey’s new Island/IDJ album E=MC2, looks like it will sell over 500k, based on one-day sales reports, though last night’s Idol appearance could send it even higher. Wonderers are wondering if 600k is within reach. Needless to say, it will be #1 next week by a wide margin.

Other chart newcomers include Capitol Nashville’s Lady Antebellum (35-40k), Vagrant/Fontana thrash rockers Thrice (25-30k), Astralwerks’ The Kooks (15-20k, with a substantial iTunes number), Spinefarm/Fontana’s Children of Bodom (15-20k) and Virgin’s Tristan Prettyman (15k, with a large iTunes marketshare thanks to “Single of the Week” status).

The market was down 8% vs. last week, down 9% vs. same week last year and now down 12% year-to-date. You may return to dissing rednecks with Obama.

1st day sales, from what ive seen, are usually 30-40% of the weeks final total for a debut, so i would guess Mariahs first-day sales are anywhere from 165,000-220,000.
