She's always supported youth and creativity so who knows. I hate people that say it usually, but Born This Way feels more ARTPOP because it blended genres so effortlessly and carried a message where ARTPOP struggled to be cohesive.

BTW depression was probably just the struggle from the backlash of her core fans. They wanted something much lighter, and sure it sold really well and do well critically, she was also seen as a weirdo who was pandering to the gays. Not to mention all the crisis that happened behind the scenes with directors, boomkack, and probably Troy too. It was a great era and I'm glad she pulled it off though. But she even said that she was messed up on drugs for most of the era and really unhappy. skull: sorry for the late reply on this.
