The Dorne storyline is just a joke. Why did they even included it when they kill all its intersting characters right away? And no, the sand bitches are neither interesting nor good (in the show, they're pretty cool in books).

Melisandre didn't really surprised me, from the books I expected her to wear some kind of illusion to hide her true looks.

And the award for the best scene goes to: the khal admitting that seeing a naked woman is only among Top5 things ever.

Yeah it's the shortest season opener compared to all others.

Someone made this point regarding Melisandre being in the bath in S4 without the necklace on.

Basically Selyse was seeing the young version of Melisandre even without the necklace or potions, because she was so devout to the Red God because Melisandre says something like she doesn't need to use "tricks" on true believers like Selyse

or that Selyse actually did see Melisandre's true form and the viewers didn't because she looks pretty disgusted at M in the bath

She was just using those potions. They were also shown this episode.

After mulling everything over, it seems they've realized how badly written some of last season's plot points were. Randomly killing off Doran/Trystane stuck out like a sore thumb in this episode, they might be trying to end all things Dorne swiftly.

Ghost's howling to start the episode and Sansa reciting the vow to Brienne akin to Catelyn were so beautiful in a sad way. The entire Sansa/Theon/Brienne/Pod sequence was amazing. And Melisandre's reveal was harrowing, so mysterious. What grabbed my attention was when her old self goes into the bed, it seems like she throws the sheets over her head as if she's giving up/dying.

Carice Van Houten may genuinely be the most underrated performer of the show. In that last scene, she didn't say a word but she communicated so much. Plus it was all her in prosthetics and makeup.

Last night episode was great. It was way better than I expected and we got to see every important character on the show except for Bran, whom I assume they're keeping an entire episode for since he wasn't on the past season.
