Since RED, HyunA doesn't look Korean to me at all. I don't know what she had done, but she looks Hispanic or Middle Eastern something.

I was watching some old 4Minute videos the Milkshake cover and I couldn't recognize her in the group.

She looks amazing in RED but I think it's too far and she looks non-Korean. SNSD are plastic, but they've maintained recognizable faces since their debut. HyunA looks like a completely different person from another continent.

I'm not being judgemental or saying it's at all a bad thing, since I could totally be jumping the gun and it could be her make-up, but in the second picture, it almost looks like could have had eyelid surgery. She does look good though. The Red photoshoot was amazing.

Probably wasn't a mistake them making her look less asian. Probably another step to prepping her for a Western debut eventually. They've changed the shape of her jaw and nose and her eyes definitely look even bigger than they previously were.

True. If CL ends up having a successful debut, I can't imagine the influx of K-pop stars trying to start international careers. HyunA will definitely be at the top of the list.

You're right, though I think most big companies would still be super selective about who they push in the west and why. Like Hyuna's pitfall is her English skills.

I don't know if she's up to that.

Only foreign born Koreans with native English accents, or idols with near-native sounding accents a.k.a only CL and Bom, have a chance imo.

How would she handle the Western media at her current level of English? It's not just about the music when you debut somewhere new.

Also true, but they'll probably force her to perfect it. Given the circumstances, SM is probably glad Jessica is out of SNSD, since they could probably push her if CL took off. Poor Tiffaknee!

I can’t specifically talk about my plans, but it is true that positive ideas are being discussed. It is all because of PSY and I have been very lucky. I think people are taking more interest in me because I’ve been getting a lot of exposure lately. In order for me to jump on the opportunity [should it arrive], I need to be prepared. I am putting in a lot of hours studying English. I think I’d fit in quickly. I mean, my vision of the U.S. is limited because I can only see or learn things from here, but I want to go experience it all.

Then she had her Toyota US deal, she started to pop up here and there and even filmed a skit with Rita Ora (who still didn't happen in the US).
