I personally think the electro-pop/dance-pop era will be one of the most forgotten eras ever. It wasn't really a "movement" like other genres; just a quick bandwagon thing.

Then I think you got the concept of "dated music" wrong.

I agree both singles are top-notch pop songs, I would not switch the station either. But that aside, they are dated as hell production and arrangement wise.
