No. I could understand if it really hurts sales like he believes but it does not. It would probably give more exposure and potential buyers if anything.

Single sales won't be hurt but album sales would. 21 is a great example of this becuase after it was released to streaming the weekly % decrease increased. I don't have exact numbers but I do remember this. The album is doing really great right now and I would let it go a good while longer before its released to streaming.
it's not that we won't be getting the #1s that makes me mad, it's that there are so many little things that could be done that would give us #1s. ya know?

I know I kinda care sometimes about chart positions but I've been learning a lot about the industry and streaming is just not the solution.
From the business side of it, Scott is right for keeping it away.
Artists get paid less than ONE cent per stream. And imagine a label splitting those sales.
That's why even if Billboard doesn't care about airplay or radio, most songwriters depend on the airplay.
Getting a #1 and it stays on the top of the charts for 4-8 weeks for airplay can be a difference of a few thousand for a song up to 6 figures or more. I believe Redneck Woman by Gretchen Wilson brought in huge paychecks for them.
The Writers for Lonestar "Amazed" probably made millions off it.
The Online Radio programs like spotify, Pandora, etc...songwriters only get 4% and that's it.
So let's say Taylor and Alan Jackson put out their own songs and they go to #1 on airplay. Not only do they get money from albums, they also get major mola from the airplay too, since they wrote it.
Being on Internet Radio and I-tunes Downloads are not bringing in the $$$$ they would see from airplay.
They make some, but not as much as from the radio.

I bet it is. I betcha it's that track 8 that says TBA on iTunes. I am curious to hear it though!
