My turn!
Aura: 8.5/10. The production and chorus is insane, it's a brilliant opener because of the lyrical content and it actually uses the metaphor of a burqa rather accordingly I think. I actually prefer the new verses, they're more understandable and I love the long-drawn out rasp in her voice. There's just something about it though, it's not as infectious as her other songs. Just really fun to dance to.
Venus: 10/10. One of the highlights of the album. The lyrics are some of the most clever things she's ever done, and I just really enjoy the Venus motif throughout the era. It represents ARTPOP and Gaga well. The chorus is probaby one of the best things she's ever done, and the verses are just edgy enough. Between this and Aura, you already know the album is a return to Gaga's tongue-in-cheek humor.
G.U.Y: 10/10. More clever lyrics. Gaga has empowered women before by giving them male traits (the whole masturbation thing). The production is insane, the chorus is incredible, the verses are just as euphoric... entire song is among the top in her discography.
Sexxxx Dreams: 9.5/10. When I first heard this song, I was convinced it would be the best thing she's ever done. And it's one of the best, the studio version just lacks the same haunting quality. I do like the new changes to the chorus and the bridge though, previously it seemed a little bland. Reminds me very much of So Happy I Could Die.
Jewels'n'Drugs: 7.5/10. It's an awesome song. I loved the SwineFest version. I love the studio version more. But I wish the DJWS beat-breakdown was there still, and you could probably take Too $hort out. Twista has an awesome verse though.
MANiCURE: 8.5/10. More changes for the better. I was worried about her changing the post-chorus, but it seems more suited for the bridge. Plus, the can you feel it part is so catchy. It's a nice break from the dance beats, but it kind of is forgettable compared to some of the other songs.
Do What U Want: 9/10. The song was so good on release. It was unreal, but it does seem a bit experimental fillerish in relation to the rest of the album. But it's really successful in it's experimentation, it's the best banger on the album I think. Takes over my whole body, glad it's single #2.
ARTPOP: 9.5/10. It's just so euphoric. The production is slick. I like that the hee hees are a little less noticeable, makes the song more mysterious.
Swine: 7.5/10. Awesome song, really intense, can imagine it'll be great live but it's SO intense it has less replay value than the other songs.
Donatella: 10/10. Tongue-in-cheek. Classic Gaga. Hilarious, satirical, campy and so much fun. The hooks are some of her best ever.
Fashion!: 8/10. I don't get why this gets so much hate? It's cute, her vocals are awesome, the piano is a nice touch and it's a nice shake-up from the EDM of Swine and Donatella. Plus, the outro is super Guetta but it's really cool. I like it!
Mary Jane Holland: 9/10. If only this is what Born This Way could have been consistently... The lyrics to the bridge and the first verse are some of the best on ARTPOP, it's both really chill and really danc-y at the same time.
Dope: I can't rate it. I feel weird. It's an awesome song, but I can't do it.
Gypsy: 9/10. It's not quite as good as TEOG, or maybe it's just as good, but it's so melancholic and uplifting at the same time. The "I'm I'm I'm I'm a gypsy" part is infectious but I think it detracts from the song. It's not a big deal though, it just kind of ends the nice feels you get listening to it. It's catchy though, so I get why it's there.
Applause: 7.5/10. It's nice, sugar coated sweet electro candy I guess.
