Just Every damn time I am deceased. Annihilated.
So blessed is so beautiful as well. Always puts me in a peaceful mood.
The entire album is just
It serves some her best vocals ever, Mariah said it herself.
And I think it has her most underrated tracks ever, like And You Don't Remember and Till The End Of Time.
I've was browsing there for a little while and most of them were saying that Mariah is a liar for not having the album done on time like she said when in reality, she doesn't have 100% control over everything.....the damn overreacting over there is so annoying. Also, some of them were saying that Mariah is lying about being abused by Tommy (and that she takes the word too lightly..) and all I could think was, really? You mean to tell me that a man who has been notorious for being overly controlling (admitted it himself) and calculated to the point where Michael Jackson called him the Devil, wasn't oppressing Mariah? Ch..... too much stanning isn't good for anyone.
The lambs can be a mess, just look at Celine, she had postponed her album for the 4th time, you don't see her fans saying she a liar for not having it on time. **** happens, life happens. She can scrap it all and choose to retire if she wants, she doesn't owe us her life and happiness.
-----
She's about to hit 13 million twitter followers!
Yeah and then one of those ratchets said:
"I wish Mariah would let her nanny take care of her children" (paraphrasing here)
I mean that's the matter with the world nowadays.People don't care for their kids, especially rich people(like Mimi) who could easily shove them off on nannies, butlers and house staff. Oh but when they grow up to be like Lindsey Lohan, Paris Hilton and crew, people wanna point fingers and blame______ fault.
I love that Mimi and Nick are hands on parents. You can tell MC is real close with her kids.A lot of women would have dropped those babies and got straight back to partying and clubbing. Mimi actually knows her child's favorite movie, and actually takes time to watch with them,or read them books so they won't be dumb as bricks when they grow up.
*facepalm* you can tell some people don't need to have kids,or are just immature children posting on the net.
No matter how hard they hate on her husband calling him an idiot, attention *****,gigolo etc. Nick is a smart man.A man of MANY talents(from Mariah's mouth).A business man. Mimi is WAAAY richer...true,but he has his own money. The same people hating are poor bitter stans, while on the other hand he is a multi-millionaire. The CEO of Nickelodeon , Host, Actor, Comedian, Rapper(even tho his music kinda sucks ), DJ, Director, Designer. He's dabbled in it all.
On top of that he has YOUR idol to himself 24/7,and you'll have to DEAL.I mean lets not forget he did say he wouldn't mind his kids being doctors and going to college in the Barbara Walters interview.
Yeah in that interview Mariah jokingly said "Sometimes" when Barbra asked her does she trust him(Nick). She said "He's a man Barbra!" and starting giggling. They took that as proof that he is mean to her.I swear some people are dense and over the top.
Also she hasn't taken the word abuse lightly, for it was a tangible thing that she went through. Some of Mariah's stubbornness and mannerisms/complexes come from when she was with Tommy in that era. Which is why sometimes she seems a little off to people who don't know of her that well.Have they listened to Side Effects?????
I agree with everything tho Beth.

Mariah owes no one anything. The first decade of her career was already enough. In the span of ten years, she became the biggest female artist in the world, even if she held on to the title for a short time.
We witnessed the artistic evolution of a young and brilliant singer finding her own voice in the wave of Whitney Houston to a hugely profitable Adult Contemporary singer to an experienced musician realizing her full potential as a RnB artist, able to express herself in ways that profoundly affected others and with a clarity most could only dream of. To further these artistic endeavors she released countless remixes in times she felt her freedom of expression was being surpressed, and even these remixes turned out to have an impact on pop culture and music. Along the way she released (one of) the best selling Christmas albums of all time, and with it an original classic Christmas song that stands with the greatest.
Her voice itself underwent many transformations with each year. She reached her vocal peak within the span of a mere two years from 1995-1996, truly using her voice as a coloratura soprano, and then the incredible effortlessness was gone in the blink of an eye. Yet those 7 years of vocal perfection are more than enough, and we will treasure them for a lifetime.
Mariah endured violent racism, poverty, a marriage with a monster, and endless years of overworking herself in the studio with the fear of declining back into her old and miserable life to emerge on top.
Then in the 2000s, she faced commercial disappointment for the first time, proved herself to be a never fading force in the industry, broke some more records, and suffered a miscarriage.
Now she is a happy wife, a proud mother, and a legend in the industry. Her name alone draws people to their feet. Her existence has been validated through her hard work, and has graced us with 23 years of beautiful music.
It is a short time for a figure of her status, but still a long period for any human. Since discovering her in 7th grade, it has taken me about three and a half ears to completely go through her entire discography, including remixes and unreleased songs. And I have barely scratched the surface with her live performances.
She has nothing left to prove. She has enough money to live like a queen for the rest of her and her childrens' lives. Anyone who gets pressed over her releasing new songs or her chart success or whatever does not take her achievements seriously. After getting into Janet Jackson, I had fully accepted that she was done with music and didn't even mind, because she had done so much already. The announcement of her new album was more of a pleasant surprise to me than anything. And anyone who would rather see Mariah suffer with Tommy than be content with life as Nick does not deserve to ever speak of her again, much less call himself a lamb.
Also, let me just say I loved #Beautiful. To me it's still the perfect summer cruising song. I'd just like an extended album version, thanks Mimi.
Anyways, this was way longer than what I intended.
I hope no one actually read all of that drag, I just got on a rant.
Lemme end this with a cute little Mariah pic, cuz she sure knows how to have fun. What a lucky girl.
Also the haunting vibe of the whole production. I love the somber instrumentals and synths in there. TBH E=MC2 is herebest album of the 2000's production wise. Everything sounds to crisp and clear(save for Mimi's raspy, thin and worn out vocals) It really hid the fact that Mimi's voice had been pooped from the TEOM tour.
The production complimented her vocal state at the time
I love her voice on E=mc2, and I don't think she really sounded that bad that era. It was during Memoirs when she got really messy. I Stay In Love, Last Kiss, For The Record and I Wish You Well are great vocals, and I'm really glad I became a stan right before then so I could see her slay one last time.
Anyways...how many of you all know and use this? I love how she sounds here.
WAT? While I love E=MC˛ (as any MC album after 1994), it is the most POP of the 90s
How is it more Urban Hip Hop than Butterfly, Rainbow, Charmbracelet, TEOM, MOAIA?
Production wise yes it was.All the albums you named were more R&B/Pop oriented. This album was much more Hip-Hop.That's what I mean by Urban.
E=MC2 had a lot of heavy beats, Miami bass, Southern Hip-hop type urban sound. The Dream Trickey Stewart, and Danja produced most of the album.
Charmbracelet was very light and ethereal feel to it. It's very springy(if i could use a season to describe it)
MOAIA was very laid back, and Imo becomes boring in some parts. Memoirs had a lot of slow jams on it and ballads. The only "Up-tempo" was Obsessed(and truly it was a mid tempo)
E=MC2 had a very summery vibe to it. It's the type of record you could play at a family cookout, or bang in your Escalade truck sitting on 22's(ghetto people lingo ya'll). The type of albums you'd hear someone riding by blasting in the hood.
It had that ghetto feel to it on some songs. So yeah it was more Urban and Hip-Hop oriented compared to the others, which were ultimately R&B/Soul.
"Touch My body and I'll be "Loving you long time" are the "poppiest" tracks on the album...That's it.
I wonder what it's like to stan for her during a successful era
It's fun scalping the lessors
but can I ask....When did you start stanning

Her voice during that era was strained, always hoarse(for the most part) and her belting was thin as f^ck. She barely had a mid -chest range. The worst part too,was during live performances she lip-synced A LOT!
That's when it really started becoming extremely noticeable and annoying.
One thing we know is that when it comes to studio recordings,Mimi's voice is always gonna be up to par,but even on the album her voice didn't have that same fullness it did on TEOM.If you listen to them right after each other. The tour really did a number on her vocals(which is why she tours rarely)
The production of the album really saved her ass.I agree though, songs like "I wish You well" & "For the Record" were good vocally, but you could still hear the extra rasp and grit sometimes(I kinda liked it).
At least with the Memoirs era her voice was a bit fuller again, and it carried more weight.Yeah it was still a mess sometimes, but most of her live performances weren't as bad as 2008,cuz... chile
During MOAIA her voice was just really raspy and it was transitioning into being healthy again. Think about It Honey, "Angels Advocate Tour" was great vocally, also she had started performing Emotions again(something she hadn't done in 12 yrs). The year after that we got her flawless sequel to her first Xmas album, and the vocals were almost up to par with her 90's belting.(Dem babies helped a lot too)
Oh come All Ye Faithful belts & One Child>>>>>>>> All of her vocals on Memoirs and E
Her voice from Memoirs until now has been terrible. The amount of autotune on "Almost Home" alone<<<<<
I wasn't too impressed with her vocals on MCIIU either, but it was a good album. She needs to quit with all of this studio trickery and just make songs she can sing.
