2NE1 on the other hand were really amazing to me. But then again, I became a fan right when IATB came out, so I was there for the best part of their career, their best releases, 2NE1 TV, etc. I suppose it may really have been a "had to be there" thing because they're like...keystones of k-pop to me.

I like Big Bang's newer stuff but it's still one big "eh". I get more life from G-Dragon + Taeyang together (or their solo stuff) than I get from the group as a whole. As for 2NE1, I know they're great and have good music and videos but they don't grab me... That's not to take away from them and everything they've done for kpop. I know my faves are nothing compared to BB at their peak lol
it's def a timing thing for sure (and their absence from the kpop scene) bc iKON isn't that different from current BB and BLACKPINK is very similar to 2NE1 yet I love both of those groups.
i learned not to take k-pop/stanning seriously. whew i kinda grew up w it.
