The problem with a strong image is that you become known and identified with it. You can reinvent yourself but if you do it too late then people will automatically see it as a ploy.
Perhaps TRU should have been when she took off the wigs as well as the 2013 features. Who knows? I feel like (bar Anaconda) Nicki has taken the necessary steps to sell this new persona but it's almost like people aren't buying it as much as I and also Nicki might have imagined.

To me, she's well aware of her chart positions and is quick to remind people of her #1 selling moscato, when songs go #1 on rhythmic...of all charts etc.
It appears to me that she's doing what many artist do AFTER their chart success wanes or relies upon other factors outside of what they needed in the past. Meaning, they will try to act above it. Say goodbye to it before it says goodbye to you. I think that's what many barbz that had NO PROBLEM throwing her stats at others are doing now. It's sad to watch but it's expected.
