As you could imagine, it's very difficult to explain American racial disparity to someone in Europe. On the outside looking in, we just look like we are complaining because you guys see our big celebrities doing well and etc., and think surely it cannot be that bad.
But there was an article about gays being able to "turn off" or hide their gayness and enjoy their male privilege when they please, while other protected categories like race and gender cannot. I feel that this is what many of them do. They willingly turn their cheeks instead of choosing to understand and feel.
I really hope that her music continues to do well on the charts. What she's doing now is amazing, because she wouldn't have been able to do this on a big label.
. I was thinking about making a Paula Deen avi myself yesterday , but I refused since I suck in making avi's.
