These fans are so used to seeing other gurls struggle to get that #1 by promoting the hell out of their single. Rihanna hardly did anything to get WFL at #1.

All eyes are on Rihanna right now anyway. So...tbh...it's kinda like a self-fulfilling prophecy as far as promotion goes. It's not like the song isn't sitting at the top of the charts. Obvi they are doing something right.
Not many other artists can do that, especially in this digital singles age of the music industry. Not only that, but the hype for this project is pretty damn high. She's had some good print promotion with the major magazine covers (Esquire, UK VOGUE) and the online feature stories.
I actually think IDJ and Rih know what they are doing this time around, seriously. If you remember, GGGB era didn't have this type of huge front-end success to lead off the project and that was even after HEAVY promo and pushing Umbrella. It was a slow start, to put it mildly.
And of course that slowly grew and grew and went on to slay the industry that year and all through the re-release "Reloaded" era into the next year and beyond.
They have major plans for TTT. Trust me. Or better yet, trust Queen Fenty.

You're talking from a US perspective. Rihanna is in the UK at the time of the release, and the lead single is the type of music that would sell albums in the UK. She's really homing in on the UK this era, whilst still achieving success in the US when she isn't even there. I think that is pretty good, tbh.

She doesn't need to promote. She's on a world wide tour for her fans right now. Start worrying about promotion when WFL starts to go down.
Some of you fans are so overdramatic. I remember so many people calling WFL a flop when it was in the Top 5.

gurl bye, Every pop gurls except BEYONCE first singles went #1 effortlessly . Katy did, Gaga did, Britney did, even Ke$ha did, but how did their albums do? So lets not pretend like getting that #1 first single is an indication that the album will do well. Plus Rihanna is not a big first week gurl, so without the PROMO, her number will even be smaller

If all of you gurls are worried about the album selling well at least wait until the week of the album release. We still have time for her to promote.

Rihanna herself said that first week numbers are not indicative of an album's success.

I don't remember there being any real competition when Katy, Ke$ha or Gaga released their singles. Britney is well... Britney. Of course her single would go #1.

True, and I appreciate the fact that they're capitalizing on her biggest market, but that still doesn't make up for the fact that they haven't done anything here in the US. Part of the reason as to why these pop girls used to ( ) sell so much here was because they have big opening numbers. We both know Rih isn't a strong first week seller, but picture how easy it would have been for Loud to go 2x plat in the US with stronger opening numbers. Gaga had her face plastered on public transportation...they put so much effort into that campaign and I never feel that way with Rih. Maybe we'll see a full-fledged promo campaign one day, but as a stan right now it's just disappointing.

WFL has done better than WRWWR and HIAM WW already. And better than BTW and CG soon.

Maybe we've been doing this too long. They'll hear us out next era when the fans won't even know when Rih is releasing with her lack of promo.
