I'm kind of annoyed at the people doing the most about the trademarking thing. I'm sure there are plenty of other artists that do it for their tour merch, it just isn't publicized.

She's most likely been doing this for years, the fact it's a problem now is ridiculous. I blame Great Username.
Kinda disingenuous how the Baboons are acting dumb just so they can shade Her.

1989: The Visual Album
01. Welcome to New York - a tourist commercial for new york, basically. I see it starting with scenery of New York, all the iconic landmarks, people just walking through the streets, etc.. The first verse shows Taylor singing while taking the subway. The first chorus starts and she leaves the subway station and stares in amazement at how beautiful Times Square is. The rest of the video just shows her exploring Manhattan and cavorting with civilians
2. Blank Space - same video.
3. Style - should’ve been a vintage romance trope video. Imagine a mix between the videos for “Teenage Dream”, “The One That Got Away”, and “We Found Love”, but replaced with 50s-00s dating imagery and ideas, starring Taylor and Harry Styles. They go to a drive in movie, they hang out at the beach, they go driving around with their friends (while Taylor yells “Take me home!!!” out of the sunroof), they play songs together, they get matching tattoos. They dance, they sing, they laugh, they cry, and we all get to enjoy it.
4. Out of the Woods - take the more artsy fartsy parts of the actual video for “Style” (the shirt with eyes, the broken mirror, the WOODS on her back, etc), mix it with a few fast paced scenes of skiing accident chaos during the bridge, and voila.
5. All You Had To Do Was Stay - idk for this one, I imagine basically the “Blank Space” video, but with less humor and initial romance, and more rage and confusion.
6. Shake It Off - same video.
7. I Wish You Would - a literal interpretation of the lyrics. Taylor in her room, having an internal conflict over whether or not to call her ex back. We see the same turmoil happening to her ex. It’d be done in a very humorous way tho, and in the end, Taylor decides not to go through with it and goes to sleep, but we see a message on her phone saying “i wish u would come back”. i know it’s cheesy af but w/e*¯\_(ツ)_/¯
8. Bad Blood - a baseball themed video that starts with scenes of Taylor being bullied by another girl. We slowly watch as Taylor practices until she becomes one of the greats, and the climax comes when she sees the girl who used to bully her is pitching against her in the baseball super bowl!!! The bully throws the ball, things go slow mo, and more scenes of bullying are shown. when the final chorus hits, Taylor hits a home run, and everyone celebrates.
9. Wildest Dreams - the more literal parts of the “Style” video would be here (the guy taking off his clothes, the outdoor shots of both, the guy driving, etc.). Basically Taylor acting romantic and loving with a guy, but it’d look like it was filmed on old grainy film.
10. How You Get The Girl - i really don’t know about this one lmao.
11. This Love - a one shot video that would show Taylor from above the shoulders. The background would be a projection of various images (waves crashing, raging fire, etc.). She’s wearing no makeup and looks somber throughout the video while singing.
12. I Know Places - a very cinematic video. idk what the plot would be but the metaphor of “they are the hunters, we are the foxes” would be made very literal.
13. Clean - a simple video, full of very light pastel hues, that would be full of literal interpretations of the lyrics. All the scenes would take place in a white room (think of the rooms from Castle Oblivion from Kingdom Hearts). There’d be a stunning scene showing Taylor in a room filled*to the ceiling with water. Once the bridge reaches that climax, the water comes rushing out of the room, and*as the “I think I am finally clean” coda plays, she looks around in a mix of like awe and joy and uncertainty and gets up and walks away as the focus blurs and the video turns to black.
A slayington y/n?

They had 19M only in the US, Style has 12M overall
Actually Blank space is getting more views now than style
12M in 3 days is really good, BS numbers are so impressive, remeber that it has the fastes rising to 500M so it's not fair to compair it to it. the video helped the song to increase WW on itunes
But Blank space is the current single except the anglosphere
I think Style still has hit potential, maybe not #1, but top 10 with +2M singles sold with a great amount of views on youtube is pretty good

Someone should thread this article if they can, I'm not sure it's allowed.
It's from World Trademark Review (a publication that discusses trademark/copyright issues pretty much exclusively), and is defending her. They even list how many trademarks some of her peers (including Kanye, Katy, Gaga, Rihanna, Beyonce etc) have applied for.
Taylor Swift's trademarks fuel media misreporting and protest songs

This would be amazing. She should remake A League of Their Own for the video, just like Thelma & Louise should've been the main inspiration for Style.
Geena Davis could've been her idol for this era in terms of girl power ugh

No need to ask Katy, we're telling her what to do: perform the song! Fans don't need homemade Valentines, they need you to get off Tumblr and perform your single!

I'm so mad at GU right now
If he hadn't created that thread, the media probably wouldn't have caught up with the trademarking thing at all. I wouldn't be exaggerating if I say GU single handledly destroyed her image.
I think I need to go and look up the phrases other artists trademarked and make a thread about it.

Trademarking is an American thing. Companies do it everyday. Taylor has trademarked every album titled and other phrases. I wish people just educate themselves. you can sing, write and even print the phrase on a personal tshirt as long as it's not for resale.

Ok you're being overly dramatic. Most business pubs thought she's smart and savvy. They now understood why she's worth $200 mil at 25. Stupid folks didn't bother to understand what trademarking is and took the media's word that they could never repeat the phrases.

Trademarking is not a rich thing. It cost $450 per application . Another myth.
