I honestly didn't know any Madonna song until 4minutes. I heard some of her other song when she performed at the Super Bowl, but that's the first time I heard any of her other songs.

I knew her name, but like none of her music.

However, I've known Girls' Just Wanna Have Fun since I was itty bitty child. Madonna has the more impressive career, but Girls' Just Wanna Have Fun will be more remember than any Madonna song (though I didn't know who sang the song until ATRL)

Tbh black artists always have edges over white artists in US if they get Mainstream, not a racial thing or anything.

It's just they always get Urban (unless you're Jason Derulo) + Mainstream. The crossover effect will always win.

It's why black music dominated the 00's here, and Pharrell and John are snatching every record. It's also why Rihanna will be more remembered than Katy Perry.

I mean how y'all think Thriller got so big? He had the blacks and the whites.

I don't really wanna say it's easier for blacks to crossover...but it kinda is.

I was watching some Jimmy Fallon YouTube clips the other day from when he would do those "History in Hip-hop" sketches with Justin Timberlake and I was literally SHOCKED at how many songs were so easily recognizable and remembered as if they were legit pop hits.

Black artists cross over easier in the US because white people cant help but to like the music. Its always been that way.

Those same black artists almost never make it in Europe or Asia because they dont give them a chance.

It's for one simple reason:

White America will actually listen to Black Artists sometimes. Black America will completely not listen to White Artists.

Like you see the only artist black people embraced as a whole was Eminem, and how he completely demolishes every other white artist. But even so, they still don't use him FULLY. Urban still refuses to play his Rap songs even if they're completely Rap.
