NG's Top 30 Joints Of 2008....Presents : Number 8 & 7
8. Rihanna - Disturbia
Released: June 17, 2008.
From the Album : Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded
2007: Travis - Closer
2006: Beyonce Feat. Jay-Z - Deja Vu
2005: Gwen Stefani - Hollaback Girl
2004: Maroon 5 - She Will Be Loved

It's a hard task to top the biggest song of 2007, the catchy tune "Umbrella", but Rihanna manages to fulfill that task with her magnificent dance anthem
Disturbia. The song has funky beat with rock inspiring vocals that grasp the listeners' attention by the first verse. It also has a dark yet enjoyable vibe in order to match its track title.
Disturbia turns out to be a big hit at the club, I mean, you cannot deny that this song is everywhere. Dance programmers will exult at yet another surefire floor filler. The track defines Rihanna's stable career as it went on the top of various big charts making it one of her biggest and best singles ever. Oh, and who could ever forget about that epic video! That fierce, dark, and spine-chilling of a clip! Isn't it fun to watch Rihanna goes through several disturbing events? Whoever thought being tied down to a chair in a little tiny space can be so sexy, only Rihanna can pull that off. So forget about "Ella Ella Ey Ey Ey" because in 2008 everyone even their grandmothers are now singing "bum bum de bum, bum bum de bum bum." <3
7. Lykke Li - Little Bit
Released: May 6, 2008.
From the Album : Youth Novels
2007: J. Holiday - Bed
2006: Keyshia Cole - Love
2005: My Chemical Romance - The Ghost of You
2004: Anthony Hamilton - Charlene

In a little section called "For Your Consideration" in my year-end thread last year, I introduced you guys to Lykke Li. Her sweet vocal and enduring love message of a song become an instant favorite for me as
Little Bit makes my chart at number 7. The song has deep passion with intimate lyrics I like, which goes "
And for you I keep my legs apart/And forget about my tainted heart… I would do it/Push a button/Pull a trigger/Climb a mountain/Jump off a cliff/Cause you know baby I love you, love you a little bit". Lykke Li manages to sing that whole verse with her unique voice that transpires the whole track with vulnerability. Along with the sweet vocal, a delicately sparse accompaniment of drum machines makes the track a greater tune. The clip for
Little Bit is like having your soul being lifted up in the air, it's just so relax and luminous. Lykke Li dances around the whole clip conveying her love message to be gloomy and pleasurable. I heard this track 12 months ago and to see it charts this high, it's pretty damn clear that
Little Bit is an amazing song that captivates me and my iTunes throughout 2008.
I'm switching back to the albums list for tomorrow and stay tuned for my favorite non-single songs of 2008.
