I don't think all "EDM" is generic. If it was a drum & bass, deep house, grime, dubstep, UK garage, afrobeats, crunk, trap, or another genre I wouldn't be saying it's generic, but from the snippets Ariana's new song sounds very generic. I'm sorry, but it does. There's loads of songs like this on the radio. Latch and Turn Down For What are examples of songs which aren't generic, but this song definitely is. I've heard hundreds of songs like it. It sounds like those Nicki Minaj/will.i.am songs from a couple of years ago.
