This is such a great album. Justin grew artistically during his time away. Real artists don't need to release albums every year. There's no way to grow when you don't give yourself time to relax, take in life and examine yourself.
Justin returned making REAL music. The 20/20 Experience can only be described as "grown folks music". He ain't singing about being all up in the clubs and ****ing this broad and that broad. His subject themes are diverse, themes a little out there, but it works. Just looking at the song titles alone, "Strawberry Bubblegum" sounds a mess, but once you listen, it's orgasmic.
I love the story told on "Spaceship Coupe". Justin is doing what he's supposed to do, tell stories through his songs. I find it humorous that people who bop to generic (but still fun) songs on the radio now have the audacity to criticize Justin's lyrics. Like, let's not.
The album is modern soul/pop/r&b without going along with current trend of Eurodance/pop that so many pop stars (and unfortunately R&B/rappers too) have resorted to, trying to get an instant hit.
Fantastic album from start to finish. It's really hard to pick a favorite song because I love them all.
