Alternative still reigns supreme in this year’s countdown as fun. & Janelle Monae tops the list with the epic “We Are Young. I also use the same adjective for last year’s #1 song, FTP’s Pumped Up Kicks. This collaboration is pure perfection and their voices just complement each other so well. I hope they will still release at least one single from “Some Nights” and let’s see if they will make an impact in next year’s chart.

MALE ARTIST OF THE YEAR
KRIS ALLEN
American Idol winner, Kris Allen wins his second non-consecutive title for Male Artist of the year. He also won this award last 2010. Both Gotye and Conor Maynard came so close in winning but the top 5 finish of “The Vision of Love” on the singles chart and #1 of Thank You Camellia on the albums chart just says it all. Congrats Kris!

FEMALE ARTIST OF THE YEAR
CHER LLOYD
With a very convincing lead over Demi Lovato and Katy Perry, Cher Lloyd wins Female Artist of the year. She managed to have that lead by landing at the top 5 on my album charts with Sticks + Stones (US Version) and having 3 songs inside the top 10 of my singles chart. A phenomenal year for the lass! Congrats

After just topping the singles list, fun. wins this award over close competitors Lawson and Maroon 5. Not finishing in the top 5 of my album charts did not matter at all because having two singles in the top 10 just explains everything. I am hoping for another great year for this epic band!
Great winners and #1. Cher truly deserves that awards considering she managed to have three songs in the top Ten! Congrats to fun. but I'd love to see 1D winning that award.
