Modern Rock/Alternative
Coldplay becomes the first act to top the Modern Rock chart for two consecutive months in 2011. Meanwhile, a trio of outstanding tracks, Paramore, Foos, and Rise Against - all make their presence known in the top 5 while Foster The People continue to show impressive longevity. While newer tracks from Joy Formidable, GIVERS, Linkin Park, and Two Door Cinema Club begin a mighty tumble - some of the better tracks of the year including TV On The Radio, Rise Against, and the other Two Door track - all show some endurance.
1. Coldplay - Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall (1)
2. Paramore - Monster (13)
3. Rise Against - Make It Stop (September's Children) (-)
4. Foo Fighters - Walk (18)
5. Foster The People - Pumped Up Kicks (2)
6. Young The Giant - Cough Syrup (11)
7. The Civil Wars - Poison & Wine (-)
8. 311 - Sunset In July (20)
9. Death Cab For Cutie - You Are A Tourist (4)
10. City & Color - Fragile Bird (8)
11. The Arcade Fire - The Suburbs (3)
12. TV On The Radio - Will Do (14)
13. Two Door Cinema Club - What You Know (15)
14. Rise Against - Help Is On The Way (16)
15. Kings Of Leon - Back Down South (10)
16. Two Door Cinema Club - Something Good Can Work (5)
17. Linkin Park - Iridescent (7)
18. Joy Formidable - Whirring (6)
19. GIVERS - Up Up Up (12)
20. Mumford & Sons - Roll Away Your Stone (19)
CHR
Make it 8 incredible months at #1 for the mighty Adele. Although there is some sign of fatigue starting to show to her dominance (SLY out of the top 10), she still has the top 2 and SFTTR is just outside the top 5, which is no small feat. DJ Khaled, Britney, and Katy all charge the top 5 - chalk up 5 top 5 singles off "Teenage Dream" for Ms. Perry, which is pretty remarkable. I haven't liked a Maroon 5 song since "Makes Me Wonder" (which peaked at #2 on my chart), so their new one is nice to hear.
1. Adele - Rolling In The Deep (1)
2. Adele - Rumor Has It (2)
3. DJ Khaled f. Drake, Rick Ross, Lil' Wayne - I'm On One (10)
4. Britney Spears - I Wanna Go / Till The World Ends (7)
5. Katy Perry - Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) (9)
6. Adele - Set Fire To The Rain (3)
7. Maroon 5 f. Christina Aguilera - Moves Like Jagger (-)
8. Lady GaGa - The Edge Of Glory (8)
9. Beyonce - Best Thing I Never Had (-)
10. Pitbull f. Ne Yo, Afrojack - Give Me Everything (5)
11. Adele - Someone Like You (9)
12. LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem (-)
13. Tinie Tempah f. Wiz Khalifa - Till Im Gone (-)
14. Bad Meets Evil f. Bruno Mars - Lighters (-)
15. Nicki Minaj - Superbass (6)

Modern Rock
After being the first track to top the Modern Rock chart for more than 1 month, Coldplay slides to #2 to make room for the highly anticipated new single from RHCP. It’s a pretty safe offering from Anthony & co. but safe RHCP is still more bad ass than most other bands out there, making it good enough for #1. Foo Fighters continue their steady trend towards the top, followed by City & Color with the resilient ‘Fragile Bird’. Dallas Green is no stranger to the top, as his debut single ‘Save Your Scissors’ also hit #1. On the note of resiliency, check out Foster The People, TV On The Radio, and Rise Against – they just won’t budge. Big contenders for the year-end chart. Loving that ‘Pumped Up Kicks’ is starting to blow up CHR and iTunes as well. New music from B182 is just okay, I’m not overly excited about it. And the new Kooks is pretty good – again, nothing spectacular. There moment has definitely come and passed. Arctic Monkeys bring their third straight top 10 from ‘Suck It & See’.
1. Red Hot Chili Peppers – The Adventures of Raindance Maggie (-)
2. Coldplay – Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall (1)
3. Foo Fighters – Walk (4)
4. City & Color – Fragile Bird (10)
5. Paramore – Monster (2)
6. Foster The People – Pumped Up Kicks (5)
7. Portugal. The Man – Got It All (-)
8. Rise Against – Make It Stop (September’s Children) (3)
9. Arctic Monkeys – The Hellcat Spangled Shalalala (-)
10. TV On The Radio – Will Do (12)
11. Foster The People – Helena Beat (-)
12. The Kooks – Junk Of The Heart (-)
13. 311 – Sunset In July (8)
14. Rise Against – Help Is On The Way (14)
15. Blink 182 – Up All Night (-)
16. Death Cab For Cutie – You Are A Tourist (9)
17. Incubus – Promises, Promises (-)
18. The Arcade Fire – The Suburbs (11)
19. Two Door Cinema Club – What You Know (13)
20. Young The Giant – Cough Syrup (6)

Can you believe it? After 8 months of domination, Adele finally falters. RITD slides to #3 and is without question in the running for my #1 of 2011 despite the fact that it was #11 on my 2010 year end chart. She plummets with RHI and SFTTR, but SLY shows upward movement to #7 as the song begins what is sure to be a legendary run at Top 40 and HAC. Randomly got into some dance tracks these past few weeks, explaining the Swedish House Mafia and Afrojack debuts. Britney Spears keeps on chugging. ‘Till The World Ends is going to do really well on my year-end. Just realized I haven’t even commented on my #1. ‘Im On One’ is a great showcase for Drake, and both Ross and Wayne lend great verses – not the first time Drake’s been at #1, as ‘Fancy’ hit #1 last year.
1. DJ Khaled f. Drake, Rick Ross, Lil’ Wayne – I’m On One (3)
2. Swedish House Mafia – Save The World (-)
3. Adele – Rolling In The Deep (1)
4. Britney Spears – I Wanna Go / Till The World Ends (4)
5. Afrojack f. Eva Simmons – Take Over Control (-)
6. Katy Perry – Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) (5)
7. Adele – Someone Like You (11)
8. Pitbull f. Ne Yo, Afrojack – Give Me Everything (10)
9. Lady GaGa – Edge Of Glory (8)
10. Bad Meets Evil f. Bruno Mars – Lighters (14)
11. Adele – Rumor Has It (2)
12. Lil’ Wayne – How To Love (-)
13. Tinie Tempah f. Wiz Khalifa – Till I’m Gone (13)
14. Adele – Set Fire To The Rain (6)
15. David Guetta f. Taio Cruz – Little Bad Girl (-)

14/15 I haven't heard Fragile Bird but the rest is just fantastic.
15/15 DJ Khaled replacing Adele is shocking (not in a really good way though). Britney #4 with a 2 in 1! ![clap3](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/67d90ee8.gif)

I'm not pleased with what actually replaced Adele, but I appreciate the rest of the pop side all the same.
The rock side is officially awesome now that Coldplay's not #1 anymore. HOORAY!

Top 40
What the Brit Awards did for the track in the UK, the VMA's have now done for it in North America; as "Someone Like You" finally ascends to the top of the chart after over half a year of trailing "Rolling In The Deep". Also, a handful of Kanye & Jay Z tracks debut, as 'Watch The Throne' prepares to battle it out with Adele's '21' and Foo Fighters 'Wasting Light' for my favorite album of the year.
1. Adele - Someone Like You (7)
2. DJ Khaled f. Drake, Rick Ross, Lil' Wayne - I'm On One (1)
3. Swedish House Mafia - Save The World (2)
4. Britney Spears - I Wanna Go / Till The World Ends (4)
5. Adele - Rolling In The Deep (3)
6. Kelly Clarkson - Mr. Know It All (-)
7. Afrojack f. Eva Simmons - Take Over Control (5)
