In fact the only part of the story I think was handles badly was Kato's death, it needed to be somewhat drawn out so that the killing was seen more as an act of mercy.

Not necessarily. I don't see how having Cato deal with the mutts for hours and then killing him is more an act of mercy than killing him right away and ridding him of his suffering. Katniss leaving Cato like that overnight in the book really was a moral decision on her part, and I think the movie got the "act of mercy" part right.

I think it was an important part of the story and the only part they handled badly, they should have shown time passing overnight. I was dissapointed in the 'wolves' in general, they were nothing like they were described.

Yeah I wish they showed that the mutts' eyes were the tributes eyes, although really how could they?

I'm disappointed with fans that expected too much.

I was content with the movie. I mean, how do you expect a full well detailed novel to fit on a 2 1/2 movie? They did their best to include everything & stay true to the book. The acting was incredible so I have nothing to complain about.

BUT WAIT.. I was mildly disappointed with the cornucopia (actually the whole arena set, they exceed my expectations with Capitol tho) + they didn't show hovercraft + also didn't show a mockingjay close up + Madge (okay her role is really minor but I totally expected her to be in this )

I finally watched it today. It was great and I'm sure most people who hadn't read the books would find it amazing, but I did have some minor qualms. Mostly about how little we see/know of District 12 - from her relationship with Gale, to the dad and how she was the provider for her family. We see the bread thing, but there's isn't really much context at all.

Oh and also, as one of the critics brought up, the movie makes it seem like they just tolerate these games without saying anything, when really it's because these districts are completely powerless.

I hoped that they'd use the cave scene to maybe have Katniss tell a story about her dad's death or the bread thing but they didn't. And I don't know why they cut out the whole Katniss giving Peeta the sleeping berries part as it wouldn't have added any time at all

I didn't realise till I actually saw the film how difficult it would be to translate Katniss's thoughts into a movie so props to the director/writer/crew on doing that as effectively as they did.

I liked the movie but I haven't read the books. I thought the movie would be great if they would have went with an R.

I found the fast cuts during the fight scenes to be distracting but I understand why they had to do that.

I also liked Woody Harrelson and his character. Jennifer Lawrence did great a great job and is becoming one of my favorite actresses.

The movie was great.
Jennifer Lawrence's acting was superb. And I almost cried when Rue died.
My favorite scene was when she was feeling the effects of the tracker jacker venom. Executed perfectly.

i agree with some parts begin rushed due to the time restraint. i guess i kinda expected a little more since i read the books, but i didn't expect it to be exactly like the book either. idk it was good but not great. if you read the books you will clearly be able to see some parts being rushed especially before they go into the arena, and Cato's death.
