Judas may have been labeled as the epitome of betrayal in the New Testament, but looking forward into the pop world some thousands of years later, Lady GaGa resurrects the name in the form a dynamic and danceable track perfectly made for pop radio. One of my favorites from her latest album, "Judas" is packaged with an almost-rock, noisy beat infused with electronic and tribal sounds that could send dance floors pumping.
This well produced track obviously inherited some traits from one of it's biggest predecessors "Bad Romance," as Juda-juda-ah is very much comparable to Ra-Ra-Ra-Roma-Roma-ma; and some genes from "Paparazzi" is also passed on to its chorus. But despite all of these similarities, it still managed to come out fresh and in my opinion maybe even better than the two previously mentioned singles.
The song unfortunately suffered from the staggering and blatant use of religion to express metaphorically her stories of love, once becoming her lowest charting single and peaking only at #10 on the Hot 100. However, it was one of the longest staying residents in my daily top ten spending a total of 64 days, 15 of which at the peak. There's definitely no denying that this song is amazing, 30 silver pieces wont be enough to change my mind.
