This is what made the song so beautiful to me : the contrast between the festive beat of the song and the subtle dark and gloomy mood.

Great video.
Strong influence (not to the point of rip-off though) from Requiem for a Dream. Not just the iconic "pupils dialating" shot but the use of fast cuts and the storyline, although Rihanna's version at least had a somewhat happy ending.
