Why we're all ra-ra for Lady Gaga

The biggest pop star in the world comes to the Sunshine State this week. She has shows in Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Orlando and then on Saturday night in Tampa at the St. Pete Times Forum.
Next month her third album, Born This Way, comes out; two years ago her second album, The Fame Monster, came out; three years ago her first album, The Fame, came out; four years ago she was a mostly unknown singer-songwriter in her native New York City; five years ago she was Stefani Germanotta.

I just realized... Gaga performs Judas on Idol exactly a month after we hear it.
Also it debuts on a Tuesday Morning, so it will have a full week f sales for everything right ?
Theres no way it can chart on the chart based off of 1 day of release.

Yeah, seems very unlikely because there probably won't be the massive coordinated on-the-hour airplay coordinated by Clear Channel.
At first I wondered why they didn't release it to iTunes on Monday to really have a full week of sales, but it's probably cuz they don't want two days of airplay, in which case it very well could have charted early, which would screw up the #1 debut.
They're smart.

My wording was incorrect, I didn't mean to make like I was saying right now is her ultimate peak.

So when Judas goes #1 in Canada.... Gaga will have the most #1's on the Canadian Hot 100.

That is as long as E.T. or S&M don't #1 before it.

She peaked a while ago actually, with BR.
In a way it's normal - her debut was too massive (it really only happens once every few generations) to live up to.
Plus she's made some poor choices.

Who decides whether to play a song on radio every hour? Is it the radio DJ's decision? Do they set up an agreement with the label or do they just do it for a particular pop artist?

Care to elaborate on those choices Nicole?

I think she'll top it. I don't know why.

I disagree. I don't think she's peaked yet. We haven't even heard what sounds like her best work yet.

Music video wise, yeah probably, but are you joking? Born This Way (album) is most definitely going to be massive. The album will dominate nearly everything in 2011! This is the first time that we know for a fact she will own the year since the very beginning.

I'll wait to hear the full BTW album before saying this. I think it's way too fast to say she's already peaked. Yes, her MV hasn't been as great as BR, but she has grown musically, vocally and in other ways since BR. She's more mature.
The album will be way better than TF and TFM IMO. If she backs it up with great videos, she's not peaking soon enough.
