I know Bey has gotten so much better now than she used to be, but I love to rewatch old 2003 performances of Crazy in Love. Even now in retrospect, her sheer energy, will, self-confidence, and determination overshadow anything I've seen afterwards. There is literally no artist out since then who gives off the "I want to win"-vibe as much as Bey.
She goes so hard at the end. I can't Lke these days, they praise Ariana for her performance quality and deem her as one of the best of her generation, but Ariana would fall completely flat against Beyonce during 2003. Bey is completely aware of every single second and camera. We take these things for granted, but it's so extraordinary to see somebody like that There's literally never a bad shot, a bad vocal, a bad look, a bad move. Just full out 150%. And the fact she did that on such small stages. She's truly one of a kind.
