Ew they hurt my eyes.

I remember owning King Samurott and it backsprite looked like a sharp bop with a mutated turd on it.

It'd be nice if they didnt look so pixely/moved so much in battle. I mean the Gen 4 and 5 sprites are almost identical.

The gen 5 sprites look ok, I was just disappointed they only had 1 repeated animation.

And that a lot were just re-used sprites. It was just lazy.

^pretty sure it was just slightly zoomed in + the animation.
Some Pokemon have the exact same sprites in Gen 4 and 5.

to be fair. Gamefreaks peak with graphics was HG/SS.

So what Gens besides the first one do you all think brought the most innovation in terms of mechanics?

Gen III (Natures, abilities, double battles, running shoes, battle frontier, and revamping the IV system) > Gen IV (Physicsl, Special, Status move split) > Gen II (breeding, genders, #feminsim, shiny) > Gen V/Gen VI (I mean one had hidden abilities I Guess and the other had customization so idk they're kinna equally none changing)

DPPtHGSS sprites are identical if not for the poses.

I dunno, I think that's a pretty legitimate complaint since it's the first time we didn't get all new sprites for a new gen.

Speaking of the best Pokémon games.
This 4chaner hacked HGSS and fixed so many things.

A quick list of what he improved:
-fixed the leveling curve: this includes gym leaders and regular trainers lvls
-made johto pokemon available in Johto. ie Sneasel, houndour and Misdreavus
-gives you the GB sounds from the beginning. You can play from the start with the music from the originals
-Replaces that thot Lyra with the icon Crystal

I just finished beating Whitney and I love this so far. My only issue is that i wish he would have fixed the wild pokemon lvls too.
