As far as albums are concerned, Beyonce will most likely outsell Britney now because of her fanbase...she'll still never catch up to Britney's overall sales.

But if we were going to think about strategy Beyonce would be something to think about album release wise.

Song wise, her competition is a top 40 staple like Taylor/Adele/Selena/Bieber/Trainor etc.

Taylor's last one struggle to reach top 20
Adele's new one is underperforming and they are trying to figure out their next move
selena's little era is coming to an end
Bieber is midway and he might be a slight threat all due to timing
Trainor will possibly be a threat.

Other than that, a gaga song might be a threat

Katy hasn't even been halfway finished with recording.

So it's really about timing and competition with artists that will actually be competition.

Basically,

BRITNEY is her competition if she doesn't have a great pop song, video, image.

She has something subpar then lack of promo makes it worse.

Britney has her confidence, energy and she seems excited and involved in this project the way she was with in the zone.

She needs a radio friendly hit top 40 song that is instantly iconic

She needs a video that'll be iconic

Promo will help but this era needs to help her sales but also her streaming as well. She'll do well with video views i' mnot concerned about that.

Like you said, it almost doesn't matter who is releasing as she won't have the power to debut 400k first week anymore so the song needs to be a hit that will have longevity.

She just can't make a song that is low quality like Pretty girls or focused on her gay base like work b

Relatable, new interesting sound, good lyrics, catchy hook.

Add great visuals and she is back where she needs to be.

She has era 9 and if things work out era10 will benefit to have radio on her side.

yes. as i said time and time again when you are a legend you no longer compete with them you compete against yourself.

Her streams can be better but they are not horrible.

Her vevo streams are wonderful.

She needs this era to have a new sound that is accepted with pop songs that are quality, catchy and visuals that are equally if not more iconic than the song.

This era WILL determine if the GP sees her past an icon and a pop legend at best.

2016 after her first flop uncertified album she delivers new energy, new confidence, a new fresh sound that is an updated In the zone/Blackout Michael Weeknd Jackson with mix of pop bops, ballads/midtempos and sultry numbers reminding people that she still has it and still wants it.
POM 2.0 gets a stronger turnout with actual hits from this year and the Vegas era 1.0 flop album/subpar looks performance BUT STILL SUCCESSFUL will reinvent itself into solid album/great looks, energy, moves and continued if not stronger success.

The power of bandwagoners/fickle fans is quite real when it comes to hits, looks and superficial things
