Am relatively nervous. I thought I did pretty well last round, but two of my ranks were #16 and #17 (thnx again Buddy! come thru again for me pls lol). My entry is a lot riskier this time around... which solves the problem of using an obvious song... but my explanation might not be as on-point as it needs to. D hopefully the guest judge likes it.
Judging should take two to three days, and after results are posted I give the Golden Trinity a full 24 hours to decide on who they want to eliminate. Granted, if the Golden Trinity is all online they could potentially decide in, like, five minutes.
Attachment
As I said in my last trinity I am a hopeless romantic and it seems I get attached to those that I have a relationship with and I think the three songs I chose really show the process of that.
"The Obession"
I think "Stephen" shows an obviously exaggerated example of me trying to get with someone. The constant paranoia of 'do they like me or not'. This song also shows that taking the extra mile definietly does get their attention, but alike Ke$ha in this song I am oblivious to when someone is just not having it. A lyric from this song that I can really relate to is 'I can't take rejection'. Which is true for me, I sometimes find relationships sort of a sport in the way that I like to test myself to obtain the love of someone.
"The Devotion"
I think this song while saying it very bluntly and explicit really shows my feeling in a relationship. I am not one for open relationships and I suppose I need their attention at all times. This doesn't always mean for sexual purposes but just attention altogether which can come off as clingy. I find it hard to be in a relationship with someone who I don't speak to constantly, while that may be the healthy thing it's just not for me. I think with love should come devotion. Alike the artist in this song graphically details I will go to desperate measures to obtain this attention from my lover including offering sex or other services.
"The Break-Up"
Let's be honest with love comes break-up. But unfortuantly I am still attatched to my lover and constantly still thinking about them. I am the type of ex that still checks your facebook statues to see how you're doing and if you're doing better without me. While again this song exaggerates how Natalia stalks her ex, it is very relatable. Natalia preaches that for the rest of her life she will still be watching her lover and I can agree with her because no matter how great my relationship was with my ex I will always have a connection with them and wish I can rekindle it even if that is impossible (and I know that).

HALESTORM - NEW MODERN LOVE
"New Modern Love" is an infectious track on the third album, 'Into The Wild Life,' by Grammy award winning rock band Halestorm. While this song was not yet confirmed to be about a same-sex relationship, all of the signs point to it. Lzzy Hale, the front-woman of the band, has mentioned that she is, in fact, bisexual. Plus, with the song's lyrics about 'stepping into a closet,' a 'forbidden, unconventional, modern, uncommon love,' and 'not pretending to feel the way [she] feels,' she is most likely singing about her sexuality.
YEARS & YEARS - REAL
Olly Alexander, the lead singer of the British trio 'Years and Years,' is one of the internet's newest obsessions, and he is openly gay. Love is usually a main topic in the group's addicting electronic songs, and in a few of them, Alexander isn't afraid to express his sexuality by using male pronouns. In 'Real,' although he doesn't really use pronouns in general, he does say, in the chorus, 'You do it, boy.' Alexander is a great representation for gay youth internationally, and without a doubt, Years and Years will blow up worldwide with their debut album 'Communion.'
T.A.T.U - ALL THE THINGS SHE SAID
"All The Things She Said" is unarguably one of the most infamous, controversial hits about LGBT romance. t.A.T.u's 2002 euro-pop hit details the struggles of a teenager expressing his or her sexuality in a community (and family) that seems to be unaccepting. The video was extremely contentious as it featured the Julia Volkova and Lena Katina kissing. Organizations protested it, asking for it to be banned, and some music stations simply removed the make-out scene. It has ranked on dozens of 'Sexiest Videos' and 'Most Controversial Videos' lists. The duo once stated that they feel their song is relatable and that 'teenagers can find themselves in the song.' There have been many scenarios, according to the girls, where teenagers would tell them about how this song helped them come to terms with their sexuality and come out.
Superpower
Most love stories have 3 different acts: Falling In Love, Being In Love and Breaking Up.
Everyone goes through these until we find the one. My holy trinity is going to showcase these 3 stages to create a story, with a diverse group of artists but all three songs are linked by how honest, raw, true and simple in their production they are because true love should be easy, uncomplicated and free of all bells and whistles. THE ONLY EXCEPTION by PARAMORE
This song perfectly represents that moment when you finally fall in love with someone, the only exception who makes you believe in love and happiness after being pessimistic about love for so long and after being content of being alone. LIKE YOU'LL NEVER SEE ME AGAIN by ALICIA KEYS
When I'm in love, I love hard and give it everything I have. I cherish each day like it's going to be the last and make every moment counts because love is a gift. Not everyone is lucky to fall in love so when I do, I'm grateful for it because I understand how precious it is. This song flawlessly captures the essence of being in love, the passion, and the fear of losing the person you love. SOMEBODY THAT I USED TO KNOW by GOTYE & KIMBRA
Unfortunately all relationships don't end well. Is it because all good things have an expiration date? Or is it because breaking up is just the natural progression of love? After all love and hate are the two sides of the same coin. Breaking up is ugly and often very unfair because we always play a blame game to help us move on. This melancholic record highlights all facets of the end of love and, the sadness that someone you used to love and spend your life with, becomes somebody that you used to know.

taylor swift - begin again
One of the big things about being in love is that you never know when it can happen. In an instant, your entire world can change, and the struggles you had to face in your previous relationship won't be the focus anymore. The concept of beginning again is something special to me, I love the idea that when you fall in love its like a fresh start, a new look on life. There isn't any reason to dwell in the past when your whole life with this new person is ahead of you.
I think it's strange that you think I'm funny 'cause he never did
jessie ware - taking in water
And when you find that person, that special person, all you can focus on is what it is you love about them. Their brilliant qualities, the traits you may wish you had in yourself, their very existence. When you're in love, be it romantic or unconditional love with a close friend or family member, its all about that devotion that you have and the beauty that surrounds the relationship you hold.
Making you glow, the colours dance around you
yeah yeah yeahs - maps
The thing about love is that it definitely has its ups and its downs. When things start to get a bit troublesome, true love is being able to look beyond that, to do everything you can for a person and a relationship. To give it your all essentially. Even though this song is kind of simple lyrically, I think with the emotion in Karen O's voice you can tell the feeling that a person has when they are in love with someone, as she reassures her lover that she is the same person he fell in love with and their love is so intense.
Wait, they don't love you like i love you

"When you get the choice to sit it out or dance, I hope you dance..."
Love, to me, is about so much. It's something that most people innately crave, in one way or another, and I'm no different. It's something that most people wouldn't be alive without, on a literal level; without the love between parents and their children, for instance, the child would be unlikely to survive. For this reason, my first song is called "I Hope You Dance" by Lee Ann Womack. Every time I listen to this song, I think of how, as a small child, I knew nothing about the world but my family, and how they loved me no matter what. I think of how, even to this day, they still love me, and want me to dance...whatever form that may come.
I love my family, because they're all I have when it really comes down to it. However...how does one define family? To me, it's not about the blood line, it's about the support. I would call someone I'm not related to family if I felt like they treated me like family, and I would treat them like family. Who would treat you more like family than your best friends? My second song is "Best Friends" by Sophia Grace. I get it; you're cringing @ me choosing this, but despite who it's by, it actually has a great meaning. "You're my best friend forever; cross my heart and hope to die. You ain't got to worry never; you're my best friend for life." Did reading the quote from that song make you think of someone? It made me think of quite a few people.
"...and if the world's against us, and if our backs are up against the wall together"
"Sometimes, I'd just like somebody to hold..."
I love my family, and I love my friends; that much is true. That's not to say I don't have my moments where I would love to just have that person to lie next to on a cold winter night and feel warm on the inside. It feels so hard, given my sexuality, to believe that I'll ever find that person, but I still have faith. My last song is "Dear No One" by Tori Kelly, and personally, I find it to be the perfect love song for people who haven't met that person yet. It's a beautiful approach to a feeling that so many people feel, but can never quite word it, and it's definitely something I feel right now.

"I Want It All" ♥ Bonnie McKee The first song in my trinity speaks about the love for another. Bonnie McKee's "I Want It All" takes an edgy approach at describing her infatuation with someone she wants to be with so badly. She'll do anything to be with him; sell her soul to the devil, turn her heart into metal, et cetera. She wants every single part of him. This is an almost obsessive type of love that is so relatable when thinking about my own crushes and the thoughts that sometimes run wild through my head. Desire is a powerful feeling, and love is such an intense emotion. This song really places emphasis on just how intense it can feel to love.
LOVEforONESELF
"New Americana" ♥ Halsey The second song in my trinity speaks about the love for oneself. Halsey's "New Americana" really encapsulates that feeling to be proud of who you are. Loving who you are isn't something that's always easy to do; we all have insecurities and sometimes they get the better of us. Halsey says that we're not outsiders, and we know very well who we are. Another very relatable song for me because I feel that I am part of a new era of normality. Times are changing and so are society's perceptions of what "normal" is. I'm proud of who I am and I feel free to be who I am without judgement. Loving oneself is instrumental to living a good life.
LOVEforLIFE
"Eternal Sunshine" ♥ Jhené Aiko The third song in my trinity speaks about the love for life.
Jhené Aiko's "Eternal Sunshine" is a really beautiful and thought-provoking song that allows you to ask one of the hardest questions; if you died today, would you be happy with the life you've lead? This is such an important question. I honestly am. There have been hard times, things I regret, thing I wish I'd done... but overall, I'm happy. It's the good things that matter and the good things that will always be remembered. I've already been so many places and done things that many never get to in their lives. I've lived a life I love when looking back.

Jamie Lynn Spears - How Could I Want More
To me, "How Could I Want More" tells the story of a girl having the perfect guy in front of her, treating her how she's always wanted to be treated and although she loves him, there's still something telling her that she wants more and she doesn't want to hold him back. However, by the end of the song she ends up realising that he is the right guy for her and there's nothing more she could ask for, from him or anyone else.
Love isn't always instant, let the love develop, don't rush.
Jessica Mauboy - Barriers
"Barriers" is about falling in love again after a break up, but breaking down the walls you've built to keep yourself from getting hurt again. I like the message that even after you've lost love and you try to stop yourself from getting hurt, love can make you want to put your guard down and trust someone again, don't think about it, just let your heart be.
Love gives you the courage to trust again.
Phillip Phillips - So Easy
"So Easy" is about falling in love for the first time, experiencing something new. You don't have to try with this person it just happens naturally, there's no worries or fears, you let go and let yourself fall for the person with no questions asked, it's a beautiful sight to your eyes.
Love is the most natural thing we could ever experience, sometimes it happens effortlessly.

My trinity of Round 2 represents 3 PHASES OF LOVE RELATIONSHIPS. These songs show you love from the first feelings through the real experiences to the close-to break up.
. "I don't know what to do, I think I'm fallin' for you"
"Fallin' for You" speaks about a friendship turning into romanticism. When you're getting to fall in love, it's hard to describe what we feel inside. Every relationship starts like this. You're unsure what the other person feels and it makes you hesitant. The verses and the chorus are in contrast with each other in this song. Colbie is afraid of being rejected in the first verse, but she pours her heart out in the chorus and the second half of the song: "I've been waiting all my life and now I found you". She tells her soon-to-be lover that she can't hide her feelings because she "can't stop thinking about it" and is "tired of holding this inside". It's a cute, uplifting love song for the romantic souls who hope for a happy ending. ►
. "All I wanna do is always making love to you"
NO ANGELS - NOW THAT WE FOUND LOVE ◄
FROM "NOW... US!"
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
When you're so in love, the world ceases to exist. "Now That We Found Love" describes this feeling very well. You don't want anyone else in your life but your darling. You found the real love with him/her: "In each and every moment, I need you by my side". The song is about LOVE, the endless one, which lasts forever: "We only have one life to live, to live life in love I spend it with you". It's the best thing in the world when you can love someone and someone can love you back. In this phase of love, everyone thinks nothing can be better, nothing will ever change. You're emotionally sensitive because the butterlies still fly deep inside you. It's like a fairytale. ►
. "Can’t we just make love and not war"
RITA ORA - LOVE AND WAR (FEAT. J. COLE) ◄
FROM "ORA"
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
There are difficult times in every relationship and "Love and War" clearly shows them. Rita is tired of fighting with her boyfriend, who is J. Cole in the song, and she wants him to make a decision: "It’s time to straighten up or you can move on". In the chorus, J. Cole knows their relationship is getting to be toxic and wants to stop this madness: "Baby, maybe we can save each other". Since they both realized that there is a tension between them, they can go back to the start without any problem. They're meant to be for each other. Relationships like this usually end with break up in real life. This song has an important message: Love is stronger than war. Don't let war to win over love if you don't want to give up everything. ►
Some people fall in love with each other at first sight. Other times, the love takes time to develop.
Either way, the two hearts eventually beat in sync. This is not a story about such harmony. This is a story showcasing the more dangerous side of love, the dark descent from an innocent enough crush to the bitter pangs of unrequited love to the extreme measures taken to satisfy an obsession.

January 4th:
I saw him at the coffee shop again today, same seat he always sits in, casually turning the pages of a novel. We got refills at the same time and met at the counter. He made a joke about the service and we shared a laugh. Now that we broke the ice, I'm not afraid to talk to him again. I left just after he did and since I happened to take the long way home and walk through a different neighborhood, I found myself walking behind him and saw him go into his house. He was so cute shuffling down the street to the beat of the music he was listening to. I too walked with a heightened energy, but I was impelled by the beating in my chest.
Follow you home / You've got your headphones on / And you're dancing
Got lucky, beautiful shot / You're taking everything off / Watch the curtains wide open.
May 16th:
I tried to have the conversation again at the party last night. But he insists we’re better off as friends and that it’s too risky to try to be anything more. Why doesn’t he realize that fate brought us together in that coffee shop? To make matters worse, he spent the night talking to Sam. I slipped out to the balcony and looked at the fog-covered city sleeping below us. Every window seemed to frame the silhouette of lovers embracing, disparate bodies merged into one by desire. I stood alone in love on the balcony, waiting for him to come looking for me. He never did.
I often tell myself that we could be more than just friends....
I live in misery when you're not around / And I won't be satisfied till we're taking those vows
August 21st:
I couldn't wait any longer; I took the plunge and now I can't go back. It was simple, a tasteless concoction slipped into his drink, and now he's mine. They say it's irreversible, but that only makes sense since true love is forever. Now I'll never see him running around with someone else. I'll never listen to him rattle off the reasons we wouldn't work. My account comes to a close on this note: that when what you desire feels out of reach, there's always a way to reach just a little bit farther to grasp a fruit as sweet as love.
I don't care if you don't want me / I'm yours right now...
I put a spell on you / Because you're mine.

Love is limitless… in the sense that emotion is limitless. When in love with someone, people tend to react to extremes based on the status / recent actions in their relationship. Some of these can include the utmost happiness, a huge lost feeling due to conflict, or extreme rage. In “Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)”, which was eventually intertwined with the film Kill Bill, the song is in complete coalition with the plot of the film. A man’s true love is marrying another man… so long-story-short he decides to organize a massacre due to his anger. With its lingering guitar-driven production, Sonny Bono uses an intriguing tone to capture the hurt and sorrow that the lover who’s the main victim of the massacre possess. While love can take people on the highest of highs; love can also drag people to rock bottom. Emotion is a key component to love — it is unpredictably projected, it drives a relationship, and it knows no bounds.
Love is limitless… in the sense that space is limitless. It is has established that love is one of the most universal states-of-minds on the planet. Not only is human emotion a part of why that statement is true… but love is something that is literally, physically universal… it can be found anywhere around the world. In “Whenever, Wherever”, Shakira uses multiple clever lyrics to express just how physically universal love is. While the song also makes subtle sexual innuendos, and has other clever lyrics to express love in general… Shakira keeps the focus of the world and distance in the chorus of the song. "Whenever, wherever / We're meant to be together / I'll be there and you'll be near / And that's the deal my dear / Thereover, hereunder / You'll never have to wonder / We can always play by ear / But that's the deal my dear”. She makes it very clear throughout the song that whether her love is close, or far away, their love will forever remain in-tact.
Love is limitless… in the sense that time is limitless. While emotion, and physical distance are critical in the foundation of a love… time is something that is everlasting. We live in a society where marriage is believed to be a sacred vow of devoting yourself to someone for eternity. “Past Lives”, is a song that takes the concept of love-for-eternity, while it has a big twist. Alluding to reincarnation, Kesha uses clever lyrics (which seems to be in all three songs this trinity) to express true love. The second verse specifically, talks about a variety of periodical eras in which Kesha and her lover encounter… "Then we made it through the Ice Age, / But I lost you in the crusades, / I build the pyramids for you, babe, / Just to see your face.” Kesha challenges typical society ideas (marriage, heaven/hell) with this track, while expressing her eternal love for her partner. From an odd perspective, she shows that the couple can only live to the fullest, and benefit from everlasting time.

I had a Trinity of Love...
Young Love... Give me diamonds
When I think of Young Love, I immediately think of the story of Romeo & Juliet, a story of young love. Romeo & Juliet were two young teenagers, who declared there love based on the first glimpse of each other. They started a relationship based on the first impression and sight, which is exactly what young love is. You are so inexperienced, so delusional in love, that you judge everything base on first impulse and go off from it. You think you love each other and think you will love forever, and although it sounds so weird and idiotic, there is something so sweet and innocent about i, that you can't hate young love. Taylor sings about the story of Romeo & Juliet, and compares the story to a prince and a princess, which helps drive the story. When your young, you just want someone to give all their attention to you, and love you for who you are, and it's crazy. But that's what is so great about young love, it's unpredictable.
Adult Love... Time passes and so do lovers
As you grow up, you realize that love does take time. You can't rush into relationships expecting that they will last forever. A true connection takes lots of time, energy, and efforts from both ends of the spectrum. Mariah Carey sing "Love takes time, I don't want to be here, alone". You notice that without your special someone, without the person you love so much, you almost can't survive. Sure being in bad relationships suck, but you get past that and always find the true person you were ment to be with. After being an adult in love for a long time, you grow so much love, but also respect for your lover. It becomes so strong that you can't deny that you need the person to continue. Adult love is so strong, and special in someone life. And true love takes times, and that is what this song is about. Yes love takes time, but without love, you can't go on.
Old Love... It lasts forever, and ever.
For Old love i chose the song "Past Lives" by Kesha. This song is very unique, with and interesting theme I thought painted the perfect picture for this category. In the song, kesha sings "We were lovers in a past life, I can see it in your green eyes. Maybe you were one of my wives, in a long-lost tribe." This speaks volumes for what I think old love means, that it lasts for eternity. It stands the test of time, and lasts forever. If you love for someone and spend your life with someone, I feel like it will last forever. That the two lovers were meant to be together, no matter in what form, and are bound to be together in any form, body, or time. That even if something fatal happens, there love will still last. I think the song is very symbolic it tells the story of old love very well, that it lasts forever.

"Unrealistic Love"
B5 - Teacher's Pet
In Teacher's pet, The Group sings about being infatuated by a substitute teacher & the things they'll do to be in a relationship with her. While the idea is cute & all, it's just unrealistic. A teen boy with a grown woman that he probably won't even see again? A mess. As you can tell, they're very naive, as most of us were back when we were their ages.
"Through Thick & Thin"
Monica - You Should've Known Better
"You should've known that I would stay by your side
You should've known your girl was gonna ride or die"
In Monica's 2003 hit, You Should've Known Better, Her man is in jail, which is fitting because Monica is a former hoodrat in her own right. In the song she states multiple times that she will always be there & that she was always trustworthy, faithful & that she should Never be doubted.
She makes sure to reassures him multiple times that it will continue to stay that way no matter what.
"Head over heels in Love"
Beyonce - Crazy in Love
'Cuz your love's got the best of me,
And baby you're making a fool of me,
You got me sprung and I don't care who sees
In Beyonce's 2003 smash hit, Crazy in Love, Bey goes through the motions a bit. She is so head over heels in love with someone (Jay Z, i'd assume) that she is losing her mind. In the song she implies that she can't live without her man & that she'll love him through what ever. She loves him so much that she doesn't care how stupid she looks in the process of it.
Cristhian
love
There are endless ways to express this big word. I chose my entry to represent its transition or how people opens themselves to love someone new in their life. Like I said, it doesn't just apply to relationships, but also new people in their lives.
Karen O • ''Rapt'' / 'Crush Songs'
Love is a really strong word, you just don't go by loving every person you know or meet, It has to have something that place them above everyone and everything. Usually while meeting someone, in the process you'll know if the person will be special or just one in the crowd. But love ain't that easy, this song also represents the feel of doubt everyone has at letting someone new enter in your life, esp. if you know they'll mean something for you.
''I really need, Do you need me too?
I believe It’s gonna feel like new''
Beth Rowley • ''You Got Me Wrapped Around Your Little Finger'' / 'An Educacion'
The midpoint of this amazing and so satisfactory feeling, where the 'Butterflies in the stomach' saying becomes a real thing. I think without realizing, everyone loves to be hooked, that's the magic of this form of loving. In a lot of occasions it's also when you ensure if you could really love them.
''If this is Love, it's everything I hoped it would be''
Ella Fitzgerald • ''Love Is Here To Stay'' / 'Songbook'
Of all the songs, Ella's ''LIHTS'' cover is the most related to me on all the senses. Even though I'm a really shy person [therefore It's hard to open up myself], I fall in love easily and quickly & sometimes really delusional about it. Funny thing is I'm yet to learnt from my mistakes. Why?, I like to attribute it for my 'penchant' to love and be loved.
The moment you know you're in love and cannot do anything about it but enjoy it, that's what this song is about.
''But oh my dear... our love is here to stay''
Kitt

Love noun
1. A feeling of strong or constant affection for a person
2. Attraction based on sexual desire.
3. Affection based on admiration, benevolence, or common interests.
Love is so open ended. So much so that after running through countless structures and themes for this trinity, I decided to make it relative and represent what I know best: myself. Each one of these songs ilustrates an experience (past), feeling (present), and aspiration (future) I've had regarding love and what it means and meant to me in those periods.
