Katrina was 920mb. Making it the 3rd lowest on record for a landfalling Atlantic storm in the US. Sandy is at 951 right now and will most likely get higher with it already showing signs of weakening.
It's actually expected to go lower than 951mb.
This is no walk in the park, this storm has already made history and it's just getting started.
When my electricity went out when I went through a hurricane, our family spent a lot of fun together.
We talked a lot, played with the dogs, boiled milk so it wouldn't spoil, sung and danced, re-enacted plays.
We even got all ratchet and went in the garage half-naked and showered ourselves with the hose inside huge garbage cans.
Burned things with the candle lights.
It was the 1800's all over again.
ffff my family ain't like that. If I suggested we do any of that, they'd look at me like I was crazy and tell me to **** off I need my internet and my cable, I'm a spoiled girl
I wish I had friends that I could have come over, downstairs we have a fire place, we have tons of board games, a tv, couches, and of course we'd have alcohol. But of course most of my friends live over the bridge in Jersey and the ones on Staten Island are lame and don't do anything.

Sis, family is the only option you have to entertain you when you don't have any electricity.
If not you better go ahead and rent some books at your local library or buy some canvases and paint and get to drawing because you won't have anything else to do. Learn to knit for all I care. Trust me you'll develop some nice household skills when no electricity is around!
