What happened to the team that served us the best TO, Symphonic, Abyss and Vesperia ?
They better be working on a PS4 game cause I'm tired of all those Grace-ish games !!!

That team did Xillia. Team Destiny (Destiny 1 and 2, Rebirth, Graces) and Team Symphonia (Symphonia, Abyss, Vesperia, Xillia) are both working on Zestiria but it seems to use more of Graces than Symphonia.
Still looks promising but Team Destiny writing usually sucks.

Xillia was also a coproduction, hence the two main characters, and I bet that Millia, the superior lead, was designed by Team Symphonia

The characters by Kōsuke Fujishima are easy to spot by the facial features. Milla was actually designed by Mutsumi Inomata the guy who works mostly on Destiny Games.
Milla, Leia, Rowen, Gaius are by Inomata (Destiny)
Jude, Elize, and Alvin are by Fujishima. (Symphonia)
The eyes of Inomata characters are more rounder while Fujishima has squareish eyes. You might also recognize Fujishima style by his work on Oh!My Goddess!

Starting Symphonia today
I read somewhere that you need 3+ playthroughs to get plat
I think I'm gonna do a clean playthrough and enjoy the game first

I really don't understand the hype about Symphonia. I gave up about six hours in.
Lately I've been burnt out on RPGs, and I've instead been playing Assassin's Creed II. Eventually I do plan to go back and finish FFX HD.

Team Destiny > Symphonia
the Team Symphonia girls need to learn how to design a good battle system.

So I started Symphonia today and i really like it, my only complaint so far is how they ran out of polygons after making such detailed characters, the world map is a mess

This is why I found it truly vile
why the view can't be like any other world maps

Not really an JRPG but was the previous game any good? Not a fan of fighting games with so much button mashing and stuff but I'm interested in the story side of the game
Also the first one's super cheap rn.

The story mode is a mess, P4A2 already includes the first one's story told way better. In P4A you have to play each character's story to understand everything and it gets boring FAST because everything is the same, it's basically a Visual Novel with one fight each hour you put into reading and waiting for something to happen . In P4A2, the P4A story is being told at once, and the sequel is divided by P4side Episode and P3side Episode, with another two episodes dedicated to the antagonists.
I'd say wait until P4A2 comes out in september and enjoy both stories the best way you can, but if you have nothing else to do rn you can try P4A to get familiar with the gameplay and see if you like it. I bought it for 8€ and I don't feel like I've wasted my money and I only put 2 hours into it tbh
