"Brass In Pocket" was released as a single from the band's self-titled debut studio album, and is about having confidence in the success of a sexual encounter with a particular person.
Written by Chrissie Hynde and James Honeyman-Scott, there was initially reluctance to release it on Hynde's part. In a 2004 interview with The Observer, she even admitted to telling her producer that "he could release it over my dead body". Good thing she was persuaded, because it is a great song.
What the GP had to say:
Playa Playa was stanning hard: "A true anthem! The chorus is used so tastefully that you find yourself singing along to it, the beat is insistent and catchy, and the lyrics are empowering (especially for females). What's not to like? It's a true classic and I think Queen Scarlett Johansson would agree with me."
