Not technically a fossil pokémon since you don't have to revive it, but a close relative perhaps. Relicanth was a thought-extinct pokémon that hadn't been seen for thousands of years but was found to still exist. I love that no one ever mentions or uses (like duh, they think she's extinct) it in-game and it's one of those pokémon you only find through sheer dumb luck underwater. I remember being gagged when I first found one, like "what is
that?" This thing just living in the depths of Hoenn undetected until you come across one by sheer dumb luck. Her tie-in to the Sealed Chamber puzzle was very cute too. Obviously she's a filthy water-type, but I can't stay mad at a rock sissy.
And now for a slightly shorter
Eyes of Hoenn segment. Did anyone else think that red dot on her side was her eye? Like her sprite was small and her real eye hidden, the red stands out so ofc I was drawn to it. I kind of forget that it isn't her eye sometimes... it looks better if you pretend it is.
