It is worth pointing out that it did receive some negative responses which also included criticism towards the song itself and accusations of lip syncing (despite it being a live performance). And for every bad comment, their was a good comment made by a non K-Pop fan.

And if it was such a failure, Interscope would have dropped them faster than I would drop my trousers for Sooyoung. Instead, they are making an effort with SNSD and leaving Will.I.Am to destroy 2NE1's souls like he did with Cheryl Cole.

SNSD successfully managed to get into the top 30 on the iTunes chart in multiple countries, including the US, before a small, two-performance promo tour. Your point?

iTunes charts don't necessarily equate to the charting position on Billboart or other charts, as if they haven't already made it obvious by now.

& concerning 2NE1's Japan debut, yes it did flop. But you're aware of the fact that the single and album were released on the same day. The album literally had only one new song. Since you're such a fan, you should be aware of that. SNSD had a bunch of new songs, that even their intentional fans wanted to buy, unlike 2NE1. I didn't even bother downloading the remakes.
